Guest guest
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has any information or opinions about how accurate fitday is. I know that it probably isn't 100% reliable with regards to my calorie expenditures, especially since they don't have a lot of the activities that I do listed. What I'm really interested in knowing about are the percentages in carbs, proteins and fats. After I enter in my food for the day I've typically been at about 40%- 45% Proteins, 35%-40% Carbs, and 25%-15% Fats. I love this way to figure out my 40/40/20 this way and hope that it is at least somewhat reliable. All opinions and input are very much appreciated. I hope you're all having an EXCELLENT week! Take care! Ruth
Guest guest
I would suggest that you enter in what you eat as a custom food based on the what the label says. That's what I do. I also enter in all the recipes I use from EFL. There can be a huge difference in calories, carbs, etc...in say whole wheat bread for instance. It really depends on the what brand you buy. It's very generic in most cases and I like to know exactly not just a ballpark figure. I'm anal that way though. Lori
Guest guest
Thanks Lori! I do use my labels if at all possible. The only time I don't is if there is no label like on fruits and vegetables. I'm anal too! Have a great day! Ruth > I would suggest that you enter in what you eat as a custom food based on the what the label says. That's what I do. Guest guest
It's not free but if you want something that seems to be more accurate and take less work, check out Calorieking.com logging software. There is a 2 week free trial. They have almost every packaged product on the shelves in their data base and update it regularly. They also have many restaurants already loaded. There are also all the usually generic or standard foods. There's another one, BalanceLog.com where you can even pick a Body For Life eating plan. Again, not free but does have a free trial. Their data base doesn't seem to be as good but it's still got lots more than FitDay. I'm trying both of the PDA versions out trying to determine which I like better. _________________ " Whatever women must do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good.
