Guest guest
Our local YMCAs are quite nice too. Actually a pet peeve of mine. They have a fitness club as nice as the exclusive ones in town and costs as much but get tax breaks because they are the Y. Something is wrong with that. The Y's of today's or not anything like the Y's of yesterday. At least they do still have some good programs that hopefully, they use the membership fees for. _________________ " Whatever women must do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. I came across a listing for the YMCA in my area and thought I would give it a shot. I had a tour of the facility near my house and let me tell you the place great. It was clean the staff was nice and courtious, they have a beautiful pool, mountain climbing, and all kinds of other program I could participate in as a member, its great. I decided I would take a look at the Bally's near my house before commiting to the YMCA and I was so disappointed. The sales person who " helped me " was totally rude and assumed I didn't know anything about exercise. He began to put me down from the moment I walked in there, he even squeezed my arm and told me I had a lot of fat on them. When I asked for a tour of the facility he just walked me past the machines really quickly and took me straight to the sales office. To top it off as soon as you walk in the place smells like dirty gym clothes. Any way back to the YMCA, it's really great. I signed up for a family plan which includes my husband, my son, and myself for $75 a month and they'll watch my baby for 90 min. while I work out. I'm really excited! I just thought I would share my happy finding.
Guest guest
I work out at a Y too. I love it. It's just like you described, clean, bright, modern and all the staff is very friendly and helpfull. I take a spinning class there three mornings a week and then use the free weights for my strenght workouts. I also have a family membership so my 13 year son can go whenever he wants. They just built a teen center where the kids can hang out in a safe, supervised environment. He also swims laps in the pool and took their fit kidz class so he can use the free motion and cardio machines. I've enjoyed all of the classes they offer. They have great programs for seniors too so I can see myself going there well into my golden years Lori What I eat: http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=lblantin Who I am: http://www.bfltracker.com/searchprofile.cfm?id=5477
Guest guest
Just in case a few members missed my message a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to stress that the YMCA also provides free memberhips and day care for low income individuals and families. I attend the ymca and the day care watches my daughter for free. Just thought I'd add that for those who might not be able to afford the full YMCA memberships. Crimson > I work out at a Y too. I love it. Guest guest
I think you should contact Bally's and tell them what happened. Even if you don't intend to go there, that person was WRONG to behave that way! I just LOVE the Bally's facility that I go to... and they give you two hours in the nursery... which I very nearly needed all of today! (My workout took me over an hour and a half! I keep having to rest in the middle of sets... consequence of taking two weeks off the Plan) I'm not suggesting AT ALL that you go back to that Bally's... but I think you should report the conduct, especially if you can recall the name of that horrible employee. Just my 2¢ worth! ~Lydia BTW... to any who are interested, on a PC, you get the ¢ symbol by pressing alt+0162 on the calculator keypad. (Won't work with the numbers across the top of the keyboard) Have any of you checked out you local YMCA? Recently I was in search of a Gym where they would provide child care for my 3 month old baby.
