Hi , I had a great time in Grasse, but on the day I was in Bormes

les Mimosas it rained like hell. I*ve been just busy. I*m trying to

put a small business together. Too many talents, not one defined nor

refined! I have been making a lot of the cédrat oil and tincture. The

oil has to be stabilised with equal amounts of alcohol, because it is

perishable. So I call it *cédrat 100*. I would do the same to any EO

that I*m afraid of loosing to rancidity, but that applies only for

making alcohol based perfumes. I blended something that you would have

smelled walking through the harems of king :

cédrat 100 from Cyprus

frankincence & myrrh from Somalia

rose otto from Turkey

as if it didn*t smell good enough

I added ambergris tincture from Yemen and civet tincture from

Ethiopia. Then waited two weeks before spraying it out.

Don*t do it. It is out of this world!

Your trips to Cyprus and Grasse have obviously given you some great

inspiration. This creation sounds seductive, intoxicating and

absolutely decadent! I would also like to put my order in for

your " Harems of King " perfume.

My rip to Grasse was purely for business where I was shown a property

for sale that used to be a *perfume fountain* where people went in and

blended their own perfumes. The place seemed to have been closed down

for at least ten years. The town is loaded with soap and perfume

shops. There will be soon, I was told, quite a few perfumery related

businesses for sale in Grasse because the baby-boomers are getting

ready to retire. Grasse is as you know a perched town on a hill and

since the mimosa was 2 weeks behind schedule, the first smells you get

when you drive up are those of car exhaust until you reach the top of

the hill where the perfume businesses are and right at the very first

traffic circle you smell McDo which is opposite from Galimard Perfumes.

I visited some antiques shops with lots of perfume related articles

and even some old perfumer organs. For lunch I had a pissaladière

which is an onion tart with black olives and anchovies and a beer,

because it was a very warm day at around 22°C/ 72°F. I never had a bad

time travelling in the southern part of France. I also like to spend

Mondays in Nice because of the antiques market in the old town instead

of the daily produce market. I always have a fabulous time in what

used to be an Italian town until 1860.

I got a few new leads which means I will be going back there soon.

We need more facts! What are they asking for this fantastic property? What

does it take for someone outside the EU to go into business there.

n, write me privately. I have a person with the means, who wishes to

consider buying a cedrat grove and producing the EO, or at least

contracting out for it. My emails to your addy don't seem to make it to

Any chance that with a future visit you might be able to take some pictures

of these articles? It would be lovely to see them, since they are so rare

and so many of us have never had an opportunity to visit Grasse.
