Guest guest
Hi group- I have another question (I seem to be chock full of them these days!) I have a 34 year old patient with Crohn's, Asperger's( Autism spectrum disorder), and dysmenorrhea (severe). She recently did a urine toxic metals and essential elements test after a DPMS challenge and was found to have elevated mercury, copper, and molybdenum, and low calcium and magnesium. She also had a urine organic acids test done in the spring. Through my own research, I have learned that several of the parameters in the test are associated with elevated mercury, and most of those parameters were high for her. She is very concerned about the mercury (the impetus for the test in the first place) and it's implications in autism. We've been doing drainage since March along with the BTGs and she has been showing improvements slowly. I have felt like there's another piece to her picture that hasn't been addressed or is acting as an obstacle, and I'm wondering if it is the mercury. So on our way to figuring out why she's holding onto the mercury, we need to eliminate what she has and see what changes occur. My question is about the pros and cons of using DPMS versus the homeopathic mercury to detox the mercury, especially in someone who tends to hold on to heavy metals. I have concerns about the DMPS: - she's already got mineral imbalances and I don't want her depleted even further -she has a history of having bad or strange reactions to medications, IVs, etc. or having all the side effects -because she knows she has this history, she would have to rearrange her life around having the DMPS so that if she felt badly afterward, she wouldn't have class or other comittments. This is going to cause more stress for her, which I want to avoid since she tends to be very sensitive, anxious, and easily stressed. I also realize that I haven't used DMPS with any patients, so there may be pros I'm not aware of or have misconceptions about the treatment. Personally, I want to go slowly using the homeopathic method with Cilantrogen, phytogreens, vitamin C and castor oil packs. But having never used this treatment with patients either, I may have misconceptions that need correcting. My patient is concerned that the homeopathic method won't be as effective as the DMPS. So I would LOVE additional information/ clinical experience/opinions on the subject. Thank you! Guest guest
Hi , I don't use DMPS in my clinic so I can't really speak to that. My preference is to go with the homeopathy because I believe it is more body friendly, helping the body to balance itself, not trying to do the work for the body. If your patient is having a hard time clearing the mercury than I believe that is all the more reason to go slow, her terrain is probably tuberculinic or sycotic and she is having a hard time eliminating. Trying to force the elimination will probably only cause problems and increase symptoms. Its okay if the elimination of the mercury is slow as long as it is going in the right direction. The body should dictate the rate, as it can with homeopathy, it is much less able with something like DMPS. Keivan Jinnah
Guest guest
Hi : I have had several patients who came to our clinic after doing chelation and had damaged kidney function from it. While I did not pre and post test, their symptoms went away (chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia) went away after doing a few months of drainage and the patient remarked that this was a much better way to take care of her problems. Guest guest
Hello and I'm sorry I've taken so long to reply and maybe you have resolved this issue but maybe my input will help. I've been chelating orally with patients for many years and after much research and consultation have decided not to use DMPS as a chelator but instead use DMSA (Captomer) instead. I also use Celantro and other homeopathics and will alternate as the person's body dictates. I always use Captomer for urinary challenge. I was advised years ago that DMPS is very hard on the system and so don't use it. I find that if you support the body well with minerals and other relevant nutrients like chlorophyl, glutithione, calcium de-glucorate, etc and use drainage appropriately during the process the patient will be fine.
