What is CDSA and how did you get these results (urine, blood?) and what lab?

CDSA - Comprehensive Diagnostic Stool Analysis by Great Smokie

Diagnostic Labs in North Carolina.

You send three samples of the stool and they test to see the levels

of bacteria whether they are normal flora or in excess. One of

the main things is Candida which can cause yeast growth in

intestines. The permeability thereby of the intestines could

effect the brain and in children with less emotional control

compared to adults that results in various allergies and behavioral

problems. I am not an expert but thats what Ilearnt from others.

Hi Dawn,

Having a white coating on your tongue is not necessarily related to candida. I

had an

overgrowth of candida albicans a few months ago, and my tongue was as normal as

can be. I went to my naturopathic doctor who ordered a stool sample which

determined my diagnosis. My treatment was no sugar, fruit or fermented foods

(alcohol, vinegar, etc.) plus several natural supplements and a tincture to kill

off the

wee beasties. I don't know of any specific (and reliable) websites, but I would

suggest

if possible seeing a (certified) naturopathic physician to help you with this.

Another

thing to think about is brushing your tongue when you brush your teeth. This may

sound strange until you think that you're just doing for your tongue what you do

for

your teeth: brushing away the gunk that sticks to surfaces after chewing.

Hope this helps!

Dawn,

I had a HUGE problem with this during pregnancy #3; I had asthma and Candida BIG

TIME due to steroid meds and other stuff I was on (pre-NT). I was unable to

completely get rid of this until after delivery. During pregnancy I ate

probiotics and did no sugar, but that wasn't enough. In the last 6 months I

changed to NT diet. Also, I did Fungal Defense (for eliminating candida) and

then now I do Primal Defense (for probiotics and EM) by Garden of Life. I'm

sure you could check out other brands, but that was what I used. Finally, after

all this, my candida is nearly gone, and tongue looks normal. Hope this helps!

Candida albicans

I thought I'd throw this topic out there for you all. I read that if

you have a white coating on your tongue that it is almost certainly a

sign of overgrowth of candida albicans. Is that true? I,

unfortunately, do have a white coating on my tongue. Is it possible

that I have it from years of eating refined flour and sugar? I was a

carb addict before. I heard that coconut oil is good at killing off

the excess candida. Can anyone recommend a reliable website on the

subject?

Ciao,

Thanks for the info. Hopefully, there's an equivalent over here if I

need to take them or else I'll have to wait til my mother comes over

for a visit. Did you go get tested for it to make sure that's what you

had or did you just start taking the medicines?

There is a wonderful web site for anyone with candida issues. Go to

candida treatment

You will find files there containing an excellent diet plan, etc.,

etc. plus some very informed and helpful people.

Be well,

I didn't get tested, it was pretty obvious what the problem was. I had white

spots on my tongue and sides and top of my mouth. Both my OB and my allergist

were 100 % sure it was candida. However, because of all the steroids I was on

for my asthma symptoms, I couldn't get rid of it. I was taking probiotics,

eating no white sugar or natural sweeteners, brushing and flossing like a

maniac and even gargling this oral stuff for candida. None of it worked. What

worked was getting my colon back in proper balance through diet and supplements.

I agree with Rebekah. The way I beat my candida was getting my digestive system

back on track through diet and supplements also. That's how I was diagnosed--

through a stool sample. Actually, my ND was sure that's what I had, but she had

me

get the test done to verify anyway.

You know, you could try Pepto Bismol, or Pascaline clay or Bentonite ... they

are all

nontoxic and they seem to get the gut in line quickly, which might

affect the candida quickly. I'm just guessing, but it might be a fun

experiment.

help with sources of these products
