Guest guest
Thank you Rosie, but I couldn't have done this without support from you and the others. So be proud of yourself too, because you were willing to help us, along with many others that ask for it. Guest guest
Hi Rosie, It would have never occured to me, that foods we consider to be good can be full of things that can make us sick. With so many sick here on this board, I hope they will just take a moment and consider how important a healthy diet is. I thought we were eating a healthy diet. But, we were not. Let me be the first to say that , everyones health has turned around so much after starting this new way of eating, that we will NEVER go back. I cannot believe the difference, changing your food can make in your life. We have not felt this good since we exposed in 2001. I have NOT had this much energy, or a sense of well being in since then either. My daughter as expected will take much longer than the rest of us, but she actually starting laughing and being goofy 3 days ago. She hasn't done that since 2001. Even if you don't want to go to the extreme we did, PLEASE take my advice along with some of the others and read the ingredients. If you don't know what it is, don't eat it. Guest guest
I have come to the conclusion if it comes in a can a package bottle or container it's bad for you. Don't waste your time with the labels just don't buy it. Or avoid it as much as possible. It's really hard! In other words I just try to buy fresh foods, chicken, steak, fish, potatoes, veggies, nuts, (I know about the mold) fruits, juices, eggs, bread. I freeze my leftovers if I don't think I am going to get to them right away. I keep my bread in the freezer and take my slices straight out of the freezer one at a time and put them in the toaster. I think a lot of my food allergies come from bacteria/mold before the foods have actually gone bad. Probably my imagination but since I have been practicing this strategy I have not had as many violent reactions. I also won't keep carrots or lettuce in my fridge more than a day or two for this same reason. You can actually see the slime growing on them if you leave them too long. Guest guest
>>On Behalf Of Hi : I don't believe this subject is off-topic because this group is not only concerned about toxic mold, toxins in buildings that will cause damage to living creatures but also protocols to remediate the sick buildings as well as sick bodies. >>It would have never occured to me, that foods we consider to be good can be full of things that can make us sick.>> You are not alone. I decades ago never thought to read a label; I ate according to my taste buds, my budget, and time frame and assumed if it's sold in a grocery store or restaurant it can't be " bad " for me. How wrong I was. When I began my career in alternative health and started reading labels I was horrified what I'm ingesting. Lol was I surprised to learn canned pink grapefruit is pink because of insects used to color it, farm raised salmon is dyed pink; 100% fruit juices do contain 100% fruit juice but also massive amounts of sugar; lunch meats even in the deli case are full of chemicals, fast food French fries contain gluten and sugar to make them crisper and tastier and so many other things. I didn't even know what real food tastes like until I started cooking from scratch using whole grains. " With so many sick here on this board, I hope they will just take a moment and consider how important a healthy diet is. I thought we were eating a healthy diet. But, we were not. " Thank you for your honesty and your concern and appeal to all. I have the same desire for everyone and honestly it does not have to cost more if we have basic knowledge and are willing to change our priorities and give more attention to cooking for our health. >> " Let me be the first to say that , everyones health has turned around so much after starting this new way of eating, that we will NEVER go back. I cannot believe the difference, changing your food can make in your life. We have not felt this good since we exposed in 2001. " >>> you are the exception. Many Mothers will not sacrifice their time to such an extent as you have. I've worked with many Moms, pleading with them to do as you for the health of their children and they refused claiming it's too much work. They would rather pay their co-pay, fill scripts for Rx drugs to give their children than totally change their lifestyle for the benefit of their family. I applaud you for your dedication to your family. " " I have NOT had this much energy, or a sense of well being in since then either. My daughter as expected will take much longer than the rest of us, but she actually starting laughing and being goofy 3 days ago. She hasn't done that since 2001. " " It will take time for you daughter's body to begin to heal through your healthy meals and don't forget her dietary requirements might change as her body begins to heal. I know you will be able to make the changes when necessary. Isn't it wonderful to have a goofy little girl due to your hard work and sacrifice rather than an Rx drug and constant trips to ER? In addition you are teaching your children, they in turn will teach others so your work will continue through many. " Even if you don't want to go to the extreme we did, PLEASE take my advice along with some of the others and read the ingredients. If you don't know what it is, don't eat it. " Excellent advise . Read the labels and don't eat it if you don't know what it is. I have a dear friend, very poor, unable to afford organic food, has an autistic son (they can be very demanding and unreasonable). She has taught her son to understand when he wants something that is not healthy for him: " this is NOT food for you, not food! " You are an inspiration and extraordinary Mom! Guest guest
MSG aka It is also common to find such hidden MSG in some foods at natural food stores. Some of the most common forms of hidden MSG in hydrolyzed proteins, autolyzed yeast & yeast extracts, and " natural flavoring. " Also, Nutrifine is MSG under a new trade name found in Pringles, Nescafe and Uni Lever. Guest guest
Angel, You are so right. I don't think most people would be aware of this. I know that I sure wasn't. Hopefully, we have made others aware of what they are eating, and feed their children, and they start reading ingred. Guest guest
Hi Sherry, Yes you are correct. One good thing I did know when I had my kids was not to vaccinate. Guest guest
I had a cool experience tonight. Went to get lunch meat. Had a huge line. Decided to pick other brands and read the labels. Some guy next to me watched for awhile, then asked me why I read all the labels. So, I explained we were trying to eat healthy. That most of the lunch meats even at this store have alot of junk in them. Even the brand that claims to be all natural, with no preservatives. He asked me to show him. I did, I even showed him how many had MSG. He was soooo surprised. He asked me to compare them to the 2 I purchase. I did. He said geez, yours have nothing but real meat I would have never guessed. So, he decided to purchase the 2 that I do, and then called his wife over and showed her. They both thanked me, and I was on my way. That was such a nice experience for me tonight. I needed that. You'll find this will happen more often in the future; you'll even have days when you just have to share with others such as " have you read what's in this lunch meat? " Or with a Mom picking up a jar of peanut butter and you can ask " don't you think it's awful putting sugar into peanut butter, adding so many more calories which we don't need and the trans-fats? " giggles. Your knowledge will help many in the future, not just your family and you can be happy about this.
