Guest guest
Dear Listmates, I received this email from a woman who is trying to find help for her son. If there is any one near her who would be interested in providing services, please contact her. Thanks, M. Goldstein, Ph.D. [uNKNOWN]my son Hi Doc. first let me begin by saying that i am using my son's email address, my actual email address is jewel_co@... so if you do respond please use that address. now to tell you my delemia shouldn't be too bad if i can't spell it right ? my son is age 19, has been diagonised as being ADHD that as his mother i can agree with, next 5yrs ago(age 14) he an 2 smaller boys were playing in an electrical sub station where he was electricuted ended up with 55% 3rd degree burns.. now my son i have spoilt to a degree and then some. he recently was inna car accident that caused him to loose 2 digits on his left hand (that was not burned from before) not being able to find him proper medical help here in my home town i took him out of state to the good doc that helped us from his burns, welp this doc is unable to prescribe medications to help slow my son down, and with his depression, he suggested that i find help here in our state of north carolina.. welp doc, i called our local mental health dept. only to find that there isn't one.. go figure.. so then i seek a private company only to find that their good doc will help with ADHD, but will not help AT ALL if he finds out that my son has been self medicating by smoking pot or taking pills , my son needs help, yes this i know, he's even went to NA meetings that were a joke to him because it wasn't like he saw in the movies, so i got him the NA book put it in the bathroom for anyone in the house to read, (now i wish i had 2 bathrooms), my son is on probation, i've asked his probation officer for help she has yet to help!! only to allow him to fail 3 drug tests & loose his 2 digits on his left hand and then she brings him up on violation charges (still pending) and allowing him to quit school, he doesn't have to work, but i still think he needs to either be in school or work.. he has joined a health club and goes 3-5x's per week now, and has almost finished getting his GED, but doc i am seeing my son begin to return to his ways before his wreck, my son is a great/ Good chess player, spends hours on my computer playing both chess & pool. now my question to you, do you know the name of a good doctor closer to us that is willing to help? we are 63 miles west of charlotte & 58 miles east of ashville.. in forest city n.c. 28043, yes we do have insurance the doctor in georgia that i took him to put him thru a total of about 7-8 hours of tests, so for the most part i do have that to start with.. i don't want my son to have a doctor that sees my son as job security person, and so far that is all that i have found, i want a doctor that can treat his ADHD and to help him see to find the track that he really needs to be on, if i am making any sense. in honesty, i can say that my son enjoys getting high, but he also likes to be in control so this is a good thing to have to start with, he got his first high from the morphine 5yrs ago & liked it, but was never medically treated for his hyperness it was once said to me "Responsible Love is accepting & understanding " i guess this is my son & i , i accept him for the way he is, & i understand for the most part why, & i still love him anyway, but one of us has got to be responsible and get the proper medical help, he has asked me to find it for him, begged me to do so, so this is me still trying.. I Thank You Most Kindly for Your Time, Cornelia (connie) s mom 828-245-0880 1-866-289-0880 toll free for GoodClick here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
