I am sorry to inform you, but that bill is not going anywhere, as far as I

am aware. It's not even HR1268 anymore. It was reintroduced for the 109th

Congress and is now HR 1269. It only has three co-sponsors. But, one is Barney

, and he just signed on as of mid February, 2006. So, who knows?

I wanted to let you all know that Congressman Conyers office is not a waste

of time. They can't help us individually without legislation to support us.

But they are keeping track of us. They keep a tally of the number of victims

that contact them.

Segal is excellent to speak of this. At the Senate briefing in DC in

January, stood up and spoke of the number of victims that call them. He

spoke of the tragic tales of families being destroyed over the matter.

So, it may not seem like they are doing anything for us, but they are. They

are doing what they can without legislation to support them.

I have done the same thing. Phone calls, letters, emails. Finally I got

tired and had to concentrate on me. Just wanted to let you know I relate.

Sharon,

Yes I agree with you. is wonderful to speak with. Yes, they are

trying hard. Yes, they do keep a tally. Yes, everyone who is a victim

should take a moment and write. However, for me I have tried to distance

myself from several of these areas. I spent 3 years full time speaking with

everyone. Finally, in my own state I spoke with someone regarding this

matter (the bill). He told me that with so many builders, doctors, and so

forth with money not wanting this bill passed it wouldn't matter. Kinda

like the food industry that we were talking about yesterday. If the people

not wanting the bill passed don't have the money, the people willing to

fork out the money will win. Also, if they did pass the bill-it would open

the doors for thousands of lawsuit and scrutiny against the government. As

they have denied this for sooooo long, and have put so many peoples lives in

jeopardy, and denied so many help. They are worried about what it would do

to them. The building industry along with the insurance industry and others

are also afraid of what this would do to them. Builders would be held

accountable, the insurance industry would have to change their policies

again to protect the health of the consumer and so on. So, they are willing

to fight to the end. Using whatever amount of money it takes to keep this

bill where it is. That it will take the industries to cool down, listen to

reason and back off. Remember, that this isn't what I am saying. This is

what I was told, so please don't get upset with me. I am just sharing the

info.

I am just as irritated by it as all of you are. But, I finally had to let

some things go and focus on my kids. I spent so much time on this matter

for 3 years that I didn't spend precious time with my kids. I sat at this

computer, and on the phone everyday, 7 days a week, from 8 am-midnight. So,

I had to let something's go. What I let go was the things that were

upsetting to me. But, I do believe that those that have the energy, and the

ability, and new victims should take a moment to write them.

Would also like to mention. Don't think that I don't care, or have not done

anything. I have a folder with over 350 letters and correspondences that I

have written over the years. I was even on a talk show here in Michigan

regarding this matter. So, I have been out there trying. Also, made some

friends with some of the local news people. But, they said they wouldn't do

the story because of the same reason on my last e-mail. But, when the

matter is addressed by our State that they will be willing to a full exposé

on the story of mold.

So, please don't think that I just don't care.

oh yes, I think we are all aware of this, I hope this bill was not

made for profit. to set there and never fly, while money changes

hands to keep it that way. I talked to Segal too and he is a

mold victim. sorry, but Im not going to set back and hold the hands

of profiters that this bill would distroy. it is what it is. we are

the ones sick and there will be many more. we have a duty to fight

tooth and nail to get this brought to the publics eye regardless of

if it will put others out of business. gee, matbe than they would

know a part of our

pain.

I have written my congressman and even had a meeting with him last Sept. We

took a whole notebook full of information including a copy of the Boston

Mold Hearing! I called his office in Jan. asking him to send an aide to the

meeting with Sen. Kennedy. I have heard nothing since! However, I am NOT

giving

up!!!
