Question from newbie - rinsewater temp

Hey, everybody.  I just joined, partly to listen for information, and mostly

because I have a question I didn't see answered on the website.

I have just begun sprouting (have my first batch, working on my second).  I am

using one of the mixes from that have tiny seeds.

It's winter, and with my rental house setup, I have to run water in my kitchen

sink a LONG time before I get anything but cold water, so I have been rinsing my

sprouts in cold water twice a day.  The first batch grew well, but were VERY

small, even after 6 days.

Is this just because the seeds are so small?  Or because I'm using cold water to

rinse them?
