In an SEC filing, the Milford, Mass., company (NYSE: WAT) said it would spend between $5 million and $7 million on the cost-reduction and expense-reallocation plan. At the end of last year, Waters employed 4,500 people worldwide. Earlier this month, Waters bought Watertown, Mass., food-testing kit maker Vicam, which makes tests for cancer-causing mycotoxins, which are formed by fungi, molds and other microbiological organisms. In addition, the company plans to close a sales and demonstration office in the Netherlands in the third quarter of 2006. Waters earned $205 million last year on $1.2 billion in sales, which grew 5 percent over 2004 revenue.
