Hi All,

I agree with you as far as affordable housing, and safe housing. Some are

leaving bad environments only to be placed in another. It is ashamed that

many are paying over $1200.00 a month and they still have problems. I know

of many who are living in government approved housing section 9, (I think

that's the #) and many of the landlords just don't care. For these it is

especially hard to get out if they are getting sick. It would be nice if

there was a national program. Others work in bad environments, and have

been there for years. They are faced with making very hard choices, stay

and get sicker, or leave and have no money. It is not an easy choice to

make. Seems like it would be, but geez, you seem to lose on either end of

the spectrum. How horrible it is, to be placed in these situations.

Hopefully, someday the government will step in and make some sort

guidelines, and enforce them. Wouldn't that be nice.

basically form what i have seen ,,i have friends who have relatives in the real

estate business ,,,, they divorce themselves from it emotionallt and financially

,,, the attitide is buyer be ware and renters shoudl be grateful they have it as

goos as they ahve it ,,,,, it does not matter ,,,,, what do they care ,,, if you

leave they can sue you for breach of contract and get a full years rent ,,in

the mean time another poor sould in now in the mold and te cylce continuse ,,,,,

untill this is considered an epicidemit ,,,, one thing they are not counting on

is the fact that this is allowing the sproe count to be so high outside and soon

it will start to affect the properties that had not problem they will only do

something whan it is TOOO LATE ,,, like they always do ,,,,, ,..... rt ,

The only way there will affordable low cost housing is if health

hazzard exists, law is that landlord must clean it up or he cannot

rent out property. So, have to demonstrate that this is health

hazzard. Perhaps you are all on that page already. It must be shown,

then that the health impact of residents costs government much money

when people are forced to quit their jobs because they can't work and

then need public assistance.

[] Re: Affordable/Safe housing

The only way affordable housing will be healthy, is if it mandated by

law that mold and other health hazzards must be fixed or land owner

cannot rent it out. If it isn't against the law, low cost housing

will not be maintained.

Jeanine thank you for sharing this. I'm sure others in similar situations

will benefit from your detailed explanation how you successfully left a

toxic apartment.

Rather than spending a lot of money on testing, you obtained the samples,

saved them and took pictures and informed your landlord of your actions.

What a brilliant idea!!

Rosie

On Behalf Of who

you are so right rt, the last apartment I was in was bad ,and was

aggervateing my illnesses. I talked to the landlord about it and he

said there was nothing he could do about it, him and I both knew that

what he really was saying is that he was not going to spend money

dealing with it and no one could make him. him and I both knew that

he knew it was a health problem.(wont go into that) but I told him

that because he wouldn't do anything about it, that I would have to

move and I couldn't pay him rent and save money to move at the same

time. after I moved he called and wanted this money, and talked about

takeing me to court. I told him to go right ahead. I prepared for

this possability by takeing pictures of the moldy cealing tiles from

a suspended cealing that he would just replace as they got moldy from

multiple leaks(those drop in kind on metel grids), and took clear

tape and took tape samples and sealed them in ziplock bags, in case I

would need proof.for about $50.00 you can send this tape sample to a

lab and have it tested. and because I had to line all the heater

vents with hepa filters, and they were turning black, I took some

pictures of them, than left them there so he could see that I had to

do this because the basement and crawl space were these vents were,

was bad. I am not saying anyone else go this route, It worked for me,

because he knew I was pissed and if he wanted to make a court issue

out of it, that I would do it. and he knew that this could possably

result in him haveing to do something about these moldy apartments,

she was lucky but a LOT of the places at least here in m state HAAVE lawyers

that are ready to discount anything,,,, and some of the midigation co WILL NOT

GO to court ,,,, been there /done that ,,, so better to find out the code and

laws of your state and talk to a few lawyers ,, and if real estate is a BIG

bussiness as it is here ,,,,, well if you can get them to pay for the

decommination and refund your deposit ,,,, you are doing great. remember not

every state is mold consious and if you are in a state that the lawyers are on

retainer for the properties and real estate brokerages have most of the layers

on retainer ,,,, for all jut becareful ,,,,, know the down side and remember you

do not wat to put your self into a worse position,,,,, if you move too qiukly

and the new palce has mold ,,, you will be labled as a problem maker and tryig

to get money so ,,,,,, if you can go mt to mt till you can find a new place as

i am doing ,,,, rt

yes, Landlords should have to deal with it the same way that

schools are being made to deal with it, is it osha that puts presure

on schools? I'm thinking there is something called the landloads

association where you can make complaints about landlords. not that

it would do any

1.Well, then this is a matter of enforcement. If the law is already

there and I thought it was actually, it needs to be enforced. If a

connection can be shown that people GET SICK in this housing and

that costs GOVERNMENT lots of money, then they would start to

enforce. So the key would be to show a connection between the sick

buildings and illness of people inside and that cost to government

FORT LAUDERDALE

will soon turn 82-years-old and over the past few months she has

visited a number of church pastors, elected officials and community service

agencies. Her visits had nothing to do with birthday greetings however.

Instead, Mrs. was seeking their help, but none of those distinguished

citizens have offered her any assistance whatsoever. She has lived in the

Linden Apartments on NW 9th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale for more than 40

years. When you enter her apartment you can smell an odor that's similar to

rotting wood. A black growth that resembles spores and mushrooms sprouts out

of the baseboards and the ceilings and walls are stained with a yellowish

substance. Tests have confirmed the apartment is infested with mold and Mrs.

says a city inspector also told her the apartment had " mold damage. "

She now suffers from headaches and has difficulty breathing and said this

week the landlord wants her to move out instead of giving her another

apartment. What a shame! Not the mold or the conflict with the landlord,

because this happens all the time.

What's shameful are all those people who looked the other way after she

asked for help. It's clear she's reconciled the reality of what has

happened. Like other pioneers of her era, sadly, she realizes that many of

today's " leaders, " those whom her generation suffered and struggled for to

be in the positions they now hold pays little attention to their plight.

Remember the Story about Miss Cline well she's worse live in a HUD retirment

Home in Broward County!?. there's another 90 year old lady Miss Jefferson not

just mold her toilet also backs up GO FIGURE

another Example.

Funny this all took place after I went into Broward General Hospital With

Breathing Problems and for some strange reason I ended up in the Nut house

then this?

I was Kidnapped From my Hospital Bed Broward

General Hospital!!! WHY??? EVIL Woman Lori Parrish she's the one that sent

the Nut Doctor into my Hospital Room. My Name is Elvira I've been

fighting with Hud now for ten years I'm and Activist for the Poor disabled,

Under the Federal Government HUD Housing started 10 years ago.I become the

person every one come to about problems in HUD my story is very long I also

support Rights of others, I'm trying to expose so many wrongs under HUD WE

LIVE IN SICK HOUSE! MOLD Black Mold I become very ILL from it but on 5/29/04

my lungs couldn't take it any longer I had to call 911. They Took me to

Broward General Hospital they needed to keep me to Clear my lungs on

Wednesday I told my Doctor I had to get Home for 911 had brought me in and I

needed to check on things. I had no one here that could do it, The Doctor

told me he would let me go I asked to see a social worker because it was my

home that was making me Sick. The Social worker come I told her my story the

Name Krissy Parrish and Commissioner Lori Parrish come up for some reason

that made the Social Worker angry so I said to her! You can easily judge the

character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. I

never saw her again nor any of my Doctors come back Long story I didn't

want to walk out of the Hospital until my Doctor said so,but my heart was

telling me to get the Hell out of there. the next thing I know a woman comes

in the room I was half asleep she said she was a Behavioral Health Doctor

Nut Doctor? you see in January this same thing happen and this was the same

woman, Doctor Shobha Gupta MD 954-583-7267 her # I told her I know who she

was she walked out of the room the next thing I went for a walk waiting for

the Doctor to let me go home next thing I know Guards from the Hospital

escorted me back to my room.I couldn't get away and no one would tell me

why? then a man from the sixth Floor at Broward General comes W.

from the Nut House and take me there, I asked How and who was behind this he

Smiled and said didn't you know I was coming???!!!!! I said I'm here for

Lung Problems and I want to know why this is going on the things they did I

can't believe it My Brother had to come from Northern Florida to get me out.

this story needs to be check out I will never go back into a Hospital each

time I try this has happen. All started with HUD Housing in Boca Raton

Florida they keep checking to fine something bad there isn't anything so why

are they after me? Maybe this will explain some of it 10 years of HELL under

HUD Housing why won't anyone help WHY Mr. Alcee Hastings NAACP President

DiPANE 6 News ReporterKNOX COUNTY (WATE) -- More parents are coming forward

about mold conditions at Elementary School. The school is more than

70-years-old and parents have complained to Knox County schools about mold

and asbestos issues before. Now, one mother claims the school is making her

daughter sick. Nine-year-old Shellby has been sick since she started

kindergarten at Elementary School. Her mother, Angie , says

the school is to blame. " Since day one, since kindergarten, she's been sick

with allergies, asthma, coughs, you name it. She's had it. It's the mold. I

have proof. I have five, six years of proof, " says. Shellby wasn't

the first student to get sick.A number of other parents tell 6 News their

kids have had similar symptoms while attending . " My son went to

school here 10 years ago and he had the same symptoms, " says Lucy .

" Over the summer, he was completely well. The next school year, it was the

same thing. " Shellby is better now. She's been out of school recooperating

for almost two weeks. But soon, she will have to go back. Knox County

schools has denied recently that Elementary has had any current

issues with mold. Parents disagree. They say they've been after the school

to clean up its act or build a new, clean school. But their pleas have gone

unanswered. " We feel the school board is not doing what they should be doing

to get us a new school, " Belinda says. " People are having to pull

their kids out, having to home school them because they're sick. If we don't

speak up for our children, who will speak up for our child? " Regina

Underwood says.Because of the school's age, parents want a new school.

However, Elementary is not on the list for proposed improvements in

the school board's capital plan. The parent-teacher organization or PTO has

been trying to get a committee together to fight for a new school. Parents

say they're tax payers just like everyone else in the county. They shouldn't

have to fight. Knox County schools spokesman Russ Oaks did not return calls

from 6 News for a comment. Parents in this story are looking to hear from

other parents concerned about conditions at Elementary. They can be

contacted at bhdknoxx@... USE NOTICE:

Hummmmmmm,

Do you really believe what you are saying? are you saying you don't know your

body soul and mine and as for as Londa goes there is no other that I know of in

the USA as good as she is. the most wonderful person I've ever met in my life

but legal aid and other Government agencies does strange thing to keep what we

do under cover. if only we had more like Londa protected from those devils that

work in our Government.

Get to know Londa Protect her for I know to well what they must have done to

such a wonderful person did you not read the OH MY GOSH email from her it was

sweeter than sugar with so much perfection. ask me this question to me it is

evident in all my email the wrongs that has been perpetrated against the

poor.................. Please read carefully and you wouldn't have to ask me

questions like this.

I guess in some cases it's easyer to judge then see the light which some does

when the truth hurts this is I think why we are all here seeking truth.

The Good Old USA could use more people like Londa but they need to be protected

so what happen to Londa want ever happen again like she said This is not about

Elvira.......................she is only one she looks out for all but again I

say people like her needs protection end of story.

1.what I was saying is they are going to deny your story

I have more proof than I need the problem is I live with the HUD Voucher we

don't count proof or not. I had a registered Mold tester and I do understand

where you are coming from I just be in a lot of pain all the time.

I wish I could have Londa advocating for me she's the best but she's so good

they had her afraid this is a long story but it's the work of Londa please read

it and you will see how great she is

Londa sounds like a good caring person. I hope she can help you

further. No, what I was saying is they are going to deny your story

unless you have proof. You don't need proof for us here. I'm just

trying to help. I don't know what you can afford but have you tried

getting a mold plate from Home Depot and sending it off to a lab?

Others here might have better ideas. If mold is visible, the tape

lift idea might be better. Then taking that info and putting along

with info from out site about symptoms and listing all the symptoms

you and your family are having that line up with that? Perhaps you

have already done that. Please excuse me if I am not understanding

She knows I'm not crazy it's about Politics nothing more or less if she can

convince people that I'm crazy because I fight for the rights for people to know

truth about mold by putting out web sites and so on.This fit Legal aid,

NAACP,and all other Government ran it the people that work them I agree crazed

snake oil salesmen.

if my story in court alone with my proof every one will see just what's really

going on must know just want face the truth even when it's affecting Political

PIMPS.

Nothing more! sad thing is people really should investigate legal aid they use

the Blind Woman Lori for cases like mine they don't want to do a thing about.

it's a shame the things they do they are no better than the NAACP or HUD Housing

they are all in this together for they have to cover each other's backs.

WHO'S Going to believe the uneducated the fact is some of the Home owners knows

about the Mold and want to sale their homes using people with HUD Voucher that

was and is part of the money making plain no matter who they hurt. it's called

kick backs this is why people that live with the HUD Voucher needs to be made

hole. we have Children to, disable the list goes on. another thing some of the

Landlords are doing is charging people over the amount HUD allow. making

agreements to look as if they are paying the people in some cases. I had to sign

but not that I'm being paid by my Landlord that would be a lie.this cause you to

feel dammed if you do and dammed if you don't? and if you complain you are

evicted no matter if you pay your rent!?. where do we go from there? this is why

I say Step into my polar and let's caught those flies other wise the bet goes

on!?.

We are people to and should have that right, also there are people working HUD

that place there friends and themselves using HUD Money on the Beach at that.

all this is one reason Medical is so high they make us sick and Medicaid &

Medicare pay's for it hope you understand what I'm saying. If More Attorneys &

Doctors work for the poor and others with no home owners insurance what a

difference it will make.

Thank You all

Elvira

Elvira, I read what you sent. Sharon is not listening and obviously
