Perhaps fat provides food for mold but infections are much more rare

than the other effects. But the usual " use " of fat is for

accumulation (storage) of chemicals that are oil soluable. (The water

soluable ones are quickly excreted). If chemicals are stored in the

fat then the rest of the body isn't exposed to them. However,

exercise, stress, heat etc that makes you sweat can re-mobilize the

chemicals, putting them back into the blood stream, and thus exposing

you from the inside. No one knows if the body " deliberately "

increases fat to store more chemicals but the association may well be

there.
