Guest guest
Hi, My sunflower sprouts are developing the fuzzies (not the root fuzzies, but white webs higher up) and they also have brown roots. Is this due to : - overwatering? - mold in the air? (there was black mold on the window sills, which I have since cleaned) - humidity in the air? - overcrowding of the seeds? - trays stacked too long? I've put a little fan on one of my top sprouting shelves to circulate the air in the room, and I've picked out a few seeds in the crowded spots, as well as all the fuzzy ones. I've sprayed them with thieves essential oil as well, as it kills mold. I may have left the trays stacked a bit too long (from Monday afternoon to Friday) because I didn't have enough shelf space available, and am wondering if that is the cause of it. I grow all sprouts in soil, in trays with ridges in the bottom, and water them by lifting the roots and putting water in the ridges. I diffused some thieves in the room, but since it is a water based diffuser, I didn't think it was a great idea to add to the humidity. I will put a dehumidifier in today. Any other suggestions? Thanks! Tamara
