Guest guest
Excellent additions, Bev...Thank you! Diane ----Original Message Follows---- From: " *~ OM ~* " <OM@...> Reply-kombucha tea " Original Kombucha List " <kombucha tea > Subject: Shipping Kombucha Date: Sun, 1 May 2005 18:59:21 -0400 (Eastern Daylight Time) Hi Diane and EveryOne, May I suggest two more in addition to your excellent ideas about shipping Kombucha:-)) Ship at the beginning of the week when there is no holiday afterward so that the Kombucha gets where it is going as quickly as possible. It might be worth it to ship via Priority Mail as that tends to go faster and costs $3 85 for a package of less than a pound. The USPS supplies the boxes too:-)) However, it can get more expensive over one pound....... Second suggestion, be sure to include How To Make Kombucha instructions printed out. Even though you talk with someone about it ahead of time, it is best for them to be able to follow printed instructions at least the first few times they make Kombucha. You are welcome to copy and print, or send via email, the instructions on our How To Make Kombucha page or any other you like - but be sure to send some instructions along. http://users.bestweb.net/~om/kmi/manual.html Happy Sharing and Brewing! Guest guest
Note * This is from a post I wrote some years ago, I no longer ship Kombucha Cultures and Starter kits. Now I ship only Kombucha Manna Drops and Manna Green and White Tea Extract. Hi EveryOne, The most effective way I have found to ship Kombucha is in three One -Zip, food grade, freezer plastic bags; one inside another. Rinse out the first plastic bag and put the Kombucha Colony and Starter KT into the first bag and zip it. Put that bag inside another and zip, once again put both inside a third and zip. It is important that your package be wrapped securely so that it cannot leak! Place the bags in a solid cardboard box (we use Priority Mail boxes within the US). Be sure to include detailed, written, brewing instructions. You are welcome to print our KMI Manual: " How To Make Kombucha " to include in your package if you would like to. It is available for free on our Kombucha Manna International website. If the weather where you live is either too hot or too cold for Kombucha it is best to take the package right to the Post Office and mail it from there. I also recommend shipping at the beginning of a non-holiday week so that your package will arrive as quickly as possible. When I send Kombucha packages outside of the US I usually ship by Air Mail. A customs form is required for International shipping and so far even though I have put " Kombucha " on every customs form I have never had a problem shipping Kombucha world-wide. May the Kombucha Community Grow and Prosper:-)) Peace, Love & Harmony, Bev Manna International: Kombucha Information and Resources Kombucha Drops - Convenient, Safe, Effective, Easy to use. http://KMI.mannainternational.com Manna Green & White Tea Extract - Liquid Green & White Tea Extract http://GTE.mannainternational.com 100% Certified Organic ingredients: made and packaged in Glass! Guest guest
I would change it from the glass container, like what Gunther says to do, to a small plastic glad-ware container and then put it into the zip lock bags. I haven't had problems shipping over seas this way. I found that the zip-loc bags eventually started to leak out of the corners. Especially if it was having to go a long trip.
