Hello Duncan,

I was reading your post with excellent advice for Nanette. My question is, you

are using Dr. Bounous' information as well as Dr. Gutman's, are you a

client/member or distributor of Immunotec Research?

Please advise.

There's a more to it especially with the malabsorption, such as

hypochlorhydria leading to poor digestion due to a zinc and b-

vitamin deficiency, depleted antioxidant pool generally, etc ..

but you get the drift.

Every carb meal, even about two ounces, reduces immune system

activity by half for about five hours, and practically shuts down

growth hormone release; HGH is important for white blood cell

generation and thymus size and function, both important factors

in immune response. Carbs also feed bowel dysbiosis, the bad

bacteria of which happily generate another batch of toxins.

So, for the time being I think it's a mistake to stop taking

essential supplements such as undenatured whey, vitamin C, E, D,

selenium (in most cases), inulin for bowel health etc. Potassium

deficiency often causes edema; are you taking potassium and

eating a very high-vegetable diet?

Anyway, if biological requirements for nutrients and antioxidants

are not met and the toxin load not reduced, there's little point

in tinkering with other modalities because a lack of the

fundamentals for health will undermine any health regime.

I would be happy to give more input if you can honestly tell me

your biological requirements are all met as best you can do it;

i.e. you're on a diet that includes animal protein, mainly

saturated fats, restricted carbs and increased vegetables, and

the supplements I've mentioned, unless you can demonstrate that

you don't need them.
