Carl, so you can tell when charcoal needs to be changed when it has a

smell? I always wondered how to tell if charcoal needs to be changed,

as you can't tell when it is 'dirty' as you can with white particle

filters.

Glad you answered for both. I think many use the masks thinking they

are protected - as in absolutely - for as long as they intend. A few

hours is about their limit because there is very little charcoal in

them. 6 months for the filters is about right, especially for someone

as sensitive as you are.
