It is incredible to watch all this happening and be unable to warn

anyone in advance, or engage peoples interest in taking an active

role in researching their illness after they are sick.

I know of a building in which the employees know full well that the

place is making them ill but continue to act as if they cannot see

it happening.

An acquaintance worked there until the point of winding up in the

hospital with all these same mold problems - and the doctors are

mystified and clueless.

Her physician treated her with antibiotics, and for a few weeks, her

very life was in doubt. She made it through this crisis, and after

a few months, attempted to return to work.

It didn't take a crystal ball to predict what was going to happen.

She completley collapsed within a few days and was forced to quit,

knowing that she cannot return without relapsing.

She is now unable to work.

The odd part is that this person saw all this happen to me, knows

my entire story and has seen Dr Shoemakers books - yet this happened

to her anyway.

She told her physicians about my experience and Dr Shoemakers work

and said that the doctor sounded interested, but is treating her for

allergies. I repeated that this is not an allergy and offered to

talk to the doctor, but she decided to just go along with the

doctors treatment plan and not pursue Dr Shoemakers concepts or try

to pursuade the doctor to have a meeting with me.

So here we have a person who had every reason to know what she was

getting into, is aware of Dr Shoemakers work, witnessed the CFS

epidemic from the beginning and has heard my story of the sick

buildings involved, watched me fall apart and recover by a strategy

of mycotoxin avoidance...

and after all this - she still turns away from everything we have

learned in favor of treatment by doctors who admit they don't

understand her illness.

And the doctors that were offered a chance to talk to a mold

survivor whose experience has been substantiated by Dr Shoemakers

science decided to pass up on this opportunity.

Don't take it personally please and don't stop posting.

I know a number of people that have been injured from toxic mold and they

couldn't leave everything behind, buy an RV and go mountain climbing as does

.

I also know many who just don't have the money to travel to see Dr.

Shoemaker or other toxic mold physicians. They are married, have children,

the kids need food, clothing, shelter and be in school. It's hard..beyond

words at times to comprehend the suffering of the ill.

I know many seeing conventional doctors, if they still have any medical

insurance, and begging their physicians to use some of the protocols that

are helpful but the physicians refuse. So, they take what's offered and

hope knowing they need more than what their physicians are prescribing.

Yes it would be wonderful if everyone could find a safe, totally mold free

and other environmental toxic free home and have the money to be treated by

the experts but that's not reality. Who is going to give them the money to

do all this?

A lot of people are scared to lose jobs - understandably. If its clear

your employer wont get rid of mold, its best to *quietly* get another

job.. Get out of Dodge. If you can't do it quickly, lay your plans

slowly and go. Otherwise you could lose your health for good.

Its the same thing with homes. Its often very difficult to find

affordable housing and much affordable housing has issues of one kind

or another because the same kind of landlord who wont fix things is

often the kind who is looking for low income tenants because he/she

thinks they wont complain as much. And they are often right.

We need some kind of national program to lower the cost of

remediations and weatherproofing IF and ONLY if it also preserves

affordable housing. And by affordable housing I don't mean 1 bedroom

condos for $400,000 either.. Or studio apartments for $1200/month

If all the affordable housing dissapears, there will be a lot of

people dying because they cant find places to live.

R tk,

I undestand what you are saying. This site can be

confusing to new members because of the subject line

of the emails...Many of us have been following this

stuff for years, and our understanding is a little

different than someone new just looking for answers.

Some of us are looking at the big picture with mold

issues related to politics, insurance, media, and the

medical professsions. If you have questions related

to your current living situation, just post them, and

try to change the subject line to something related to

your post. Glad you found this group! It will help

anyone facing mold issues. Judi
