Those who haven't been afflicted don't really care, so they have a view of " That's impossible " which is easily dismissed. So called " helpful doctors " and " mold experts " may be trying their best, but they establish their views based on peer reviewed literature of statistical testing - which doesn't apply to ANYONE at the extreme end of illness. The problem is that because they have " The Appearance of Good Science " , these misguided views are touted as fact and " The Final Word " among groups of sufferers. Take the entrenched concept of " spore counting " for example. It is a simple matter to remove a possession from a contaminated place and wash it vigorously - and test it for " Mold Hits " . This automatically rules out the " Dose makes the poison " concept upon which spore counting is predicated. It obviously doesn't take a huge exposure to create an " out of control " inflammatory response in a sensitized person, yet therapies aimed at mold sufferers often inherently can do no more than reduce exposure slightly. Hepa filters aren't going to catch everything, and if your PIR is at a level in which a contaminated possession can cause such a response, all efforts of reducing spore counts still cannot possibly lower exposure to a level that the " Proximity test " you have already done shows to be far less than the best that can be achieved by these half measures. It sounds logical that reducing spores cannot be anything but a good thing, but if your reactivity is beyond being helped by such measures, the belief that it is a good thing is a very bad thing - for it will pursuade someone to remain in a place that has exceeded individualized tolerance. Those of us who know better simply get drowned out by the " Science " and " Machines that go PING " which are so dazzlingly impressive and presented by people with such impeccable credentials that their views are simply not called into question. Simply take an object that gives you hits out to a " pristine area " , wash it, and try to sleep with it under a pillow you have already found to be tolerable. No matter what the " Machine that goes " Ping " indicates on its dials in terms of statistical figures of spores that experts believe it takes to make someone feel ill. If you have an unacceptable response to that object, those numbers do not apply to you. -
