Guest guest
Here is a link to an article written by Dr. Varkey on Blastomycosis if any are interested in reading it. http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic231.htm As I mentioned before, it is very rare and would be unusual to find it indoors unless you have conditions like I described earlier. It is mentioned as one of the diseases associated with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the CDCs update. I am not 100% sure that I got it from the school, but I haven't been engaged in any recreational or occupational activities that would dispose one to getting it. I was a Biology teacher and I had examined it under the microscope several times, so I was in direct contact with it. It will be interesting to see if they find a source for the cases in Wisconsin. From what I have read it is difficult to isolate even in its natural habitat. kathyw --------------------------------- Bring photos to life! New PhotoMail makes sharing a breeze.
