Moving in with a relative so we can save some money and get safe

place. We have been paying so much and I know we should move because

I am always getting sick from my neighbors cooking and and chemical

fumes from shampoos, detergents.

I have been nervous the room I am going to sleep in has an antique

dresser that is 100 years old in the room. It is beautiful but I

could smell it as soon as they opened the door.

I finally got up the nerve to ask my mother-in-law if they could move

it out of there. Guess they will switch dressers today. I have been

very worried about that. Now to air the room out. I am afraid but

trying to be positive. I will be at the mercy of others to accomodate

me with my chemical problem. Luckily my mother in law is nice and

understands somewhat.

Good luck, I know how difficult it is. Being dependent on the

kindness of others. I was very fortunate, when I was moving around,

to move in with a friend who was very sympathetic, and did

everything she could to make me confortable- like taking out scented

candles- she has a peanut allergy so understands these things.

Without the help of my true friends and relatives- I would not have

made it through such a rough period. Good Luck

Good Morning :

I'm proud of you for asking your MIL to remove the dresser. I can't even

imagine how stressful this transition is for you. When will you be moving

in?

Do you have a good charcoal air purifier to keep in your new bedroom?

Is your MIL agreeable to use only non-toxic household products? With your

chemical sensitivities you will need her cooperation as much as possible for

everything she uses in the home.

Have you been able to identify any other items/products in your MIL's home

that will cause you to react and could be removed or substituted? Does she

have air fresheners, plug-ins, scented clothes washing detergents and fabric

softeners or dryer sheets?

Sending you a hug for strength and courage to protect yourself and to advise

your MIL of potential problems for you.

Rosie
