If you are seriouse about changing your heat look into Enerjoy

radient heat panels- they just screw into the ceiling , and have a

thermostat in each room- great heat- has been on in my new house all

winter as they finish the house- has worked great and is not

expensive- you can do one room or a whole house- no ducts, no duct

worries-and no oil bills

, is this heat you experience like one of those red light heat

lights in bathrooms only bigger?? Since heat rises, I would think the

type of heat that goes under floors might keep room warmer. Did you

look into that? Did you check out Mini Splits, like Mr Slim by

Mitsuibishi? A neighbor of mine put those in her new addition.

I have mini-splits for the air conditioning- the radient panels heat

the floor and object in the room- not the air- hot air rises- the temp

of the roon is much more even with radient heat than forced air- which

does go to the ceiling. The radient heat in the floor that works is

the water- you need a boiler-it was very expensive -and ties you to a

fossil fuel and a room for the boiler- plus I did not like the idea of

the water line breaking- but mainly costly to buy and maintain. The

electric floor heat was very expensive to run- and not recomended

except for a " spot heat " like the bathroom. The radient panels are very

comfortable-like the sun.
