>does anyone know if coenzymeQ10 is in it?

-

Probably not: Coenzyme Q10 is easily destroyed in the cooking process and

probably wouldn't survive the ferment even if it was in the ingredients,

which it isn't. It is not found in tea or sugar.

Coenzyme Q10 is a protein found in some foods we eat, but not often in large

amounts. The best sources of coenzyme Q10 are animal organs, some types of

fish, and vegetable oils such as soybean, rapeseed, and sesame. It is found

in lesser quantities in rice bran and wheat germ and in soy and other beans.

It is also found in vegetables, in particular spinach and broccoli.

rusty

here's my list or ingredence if anybody is interested....

does anyone know if coenzymeQ10 is in it?

hi,

" a. lactase - necessary for digesting lactose, the sugar found in

milk products "

it is my guess then that the kombucha culture can also live in and be

cultivated in milk.

any replies? :)

cultivated in milk.

any replies? :)

sugar into acid is fermenting, acid is sour, so what you just said

does not make a whole lot of sense in regards to what you wrote.

i don't know how it smells, but it wouldn't have to fall in the

understandably bad category. unless one cares to categorize yoghurt and

so on as foul smelling? :)

it is safe to say, we don't know, i think.

No I have not tried but if the Scoby needs tea and sugar to grow how would that

work in milk?

Surely the milk would sour rather than ferment. Please forgive me. I've never

veered from the original recipe I got with my scoby. Tried green tea once and

did not like the flavor.....

So there you have it.... I think but do not necessarily know because I have not

tried OR measured!

to think is not per say to know :)

have you tried? have you measured?

maybe it doesn't/can't work, but maybe it does/can.

wouldn't you think that too? :)

I believe that one of the essential ingredients of kombucha is black or

green tea. But perhaps a spot of milk with your tea would do the trick.

Kombuchourt anyone? Or maybe kombufir? Could we then have, dare we hope,

cream of kumbucha mushroom soup?

Re: here's my list or ingredence if anybody is interested....

sugar into acid is fermenting, acid is sour, so what you just said

does not make a whole lot of sense in regards to what you wrote.

i don't know how it smells, but it wouldn't have to fall in the

understandably bad category. unless one cares to categorize yoghurt and

so on as foul smelling? :)

it is safe to say, we don't know, i think.

This is a snip from Dom's Kefir In-Site>>

" As an example, I've observed that a Kombucha S.C.O.B.Y. [a natural

mother-culture or pellicle used for preparing the

Kombucha beverage] was able to culture a similar culture-milk

beverage, as do non-propagable kefir grains "

I found it on this page here>

http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefirpage.html#kefir-microflora

Basically this means that a kombucha scoby WILL ferment milk into a

healthful beverage but it won't grow/reproduce in it.

If you're not familiar with Kefir then you should read up. It is a

tart creamy drink that we love around here.

Take Care,

Beau

I saw this thread and could not resist dredging it up since I had read

it before. There is some other good experimental

info there too. It's a huge wonderful site!
