Guest guest
I'm just curious about something. Right now, I have 6 round green trays sitting on shammy clothes (I just gave them a drink), and I have them on my shelf in my kitchen and my pole lamp is greening them up. I have discovered that after 3 days or so, if I want my sprouts to grow nice and tall, I really can't cover them with the tops of the green round trays. That would smash them. Covering is fine for first three days but after that, when I am greening them up, I place them on my shelves. Now the other day, I had them on the shelves because while they were not that tall yet, I wanted to see what would happen if I took my big round CLEAR plastic bowls and placed them on top of each tray, so essentially I had 5 round green trays filled with sprouts, and each had their own clear over (kind of like mini geenhouses. I put the pole lamp on, and sure enough, they continued to sprout and they turned nice and green. So am I correct that it really doesn't make a difference if I cover them while I am greening them up, or I leave them uncovered. Covering the while they green makes it safer (no flys or any gnats or anything that might sneak in from the outside) This is really the only reason I would place the clear covers on them. To make sure that nothing FLIES into them. I mean, they greened up just fine. Or would covering them up on the last two days of sprouting make them susceptible to rotting or to mold? I have never had this happen. I'm just curious. Do any of you who happen to use the round green trays, well do you use clear covers when you green them? Thanks much Melody
