Guest guest
******I went one better and threw out my microwave 6 years ago.....it is good for 2 things....microwave popcorn and heating water....Any foods cooked or warmed in Microwaves have NO nutritional value........I also switched to stainless steel and glass cookware......I use a toaster/conventional oven for the most part. Use a crockpot and in winter months use my oven....much healthier IMHO. or Angel>>>> My microwave is built in; part of my built in oven. We've used it only for bread/roll storage since we moved into this house. I refuse to use a microwave, even for heating water. Doesn't take long on a conventional stove. My cookware is Chantal Enamel, glass (Vision) and some stainless but mostly enamel and glass. Love my convection table top toaster/oven, crockpot and turbo oven. I don't drink plastic bottled water after learning the plastic when exposed to heat will leach xenoestrogens. Will usually take a glass bottle with me in the car. Food is stored in glass/safe ceramic containers in the refrigerator. Yes it's more work but worth it to me for our long-term wellness. Guest guest
How exactly does using a microwave make food have not nutritional value? Is it the electromagnetic waves that make the microwaves make food not safe? It's hard for me not to use one b/c I bring food to work to eat and can't always eat cold food. I have thrown out any teflon pots I had. Are iron skillets ok to cook with? So storing food in plastic and freezing isn't good? Can't freeze things in glass so what can people use? Think I heard tinfoil isn't a good thing either. Here I down bottles of water daily in plastic. Today is a bad day for me with a warm front coming and going to be 80 Thursday. I called to see if any cancellations for doc appt. but isn't any yet. March 8th is my appt with a doc that prescribes CSM and does testing. Thanks for referring me to this doc. Guest guest
Rhonda read my prior post on this, I checked it out it is a hoax. As far as pans, yes Teflon is made with formaldehyde, but the worst is the age old iron skillet, it hides a number of things in its crevasses. the best pans to use are a surgical grade stainless steel i will find the taste test I once did and it will blow you away the difference in taste in the different type pans.
