Guest guest
Hi , I'm a bit late in responding but wanted to add my experience to the chorus of encouragement to try neurofeedback for your son. My son was 12 when we started with neurofeedback with a professional. He was very unstable and had pretty severe anger outbursts and aggressive reactions to things. It helped somewhat and I bought my own equipment, got trained by Pete, and began training at home with really fantastic results. Neurofeedback can be very stabilizing for kids. I've seen it in my own son, who is now 15, and in many other kids. Your child's brainwave patterns will point you to where on the head to train and which frequencies to train up or down. I encourage you to post to find a clinician or hometrainer near you who has taken Pete's training and can do an assessment on your child. This assessment will ensure the training you do is effective. If you take Pete's training, you can do the training yourself. I encourage parents to train their own kids. If you own your own equipment and know how to use it, you can train your child for as long as it's needed without worrying about cost, travel, or time. This way, too, down the road, you can train your child now and then, which I think many of us parents are doing. For example, I haven't trained my son in about a year but recently started again when my son complained about being an extraordinarily slow reader. His comprehension is great, but he is very, very slow. His assessment shows massive slow wave activity everywhere. So, even though I trained him before for stability, I am training him again to hopefully help him process a little faster. Every time we do neurofeedback again for a month or two here and there, we see more results--uplift in mood, better concentration, more organization capabilities, etc. This is great stuff.
