Guest guest Posted December 2, 2010 Report Share Posted December 2, 2010 Libby, This is wonderful news, a real landmark decision brought by a wise and courgeous judge. Hopefully this will be the first of many such rulings in favor of eliminating GMO crops from our food supply. This is so important to all of us who know what healthy natural foods mean to prevent illness and short life span. GMO crops will eventually infect our sources of organic seeds and I don't think any of us want to sprout seeds that are contaminated with Round Up or have been modified from their natural state. ... US District Judge White in California granted a preliminary injunction Tuesday sought by the Center for Food Safety and other groups, which contended that the Monsanto-produced sugar beet crops were planted without proper environmental review. He delayed implementation of the order until December 7 to allow time for an appeal. White said in his ruling that “there is a significant risk that the plantings pursuant to the permits will cause environmental harm.†He added that despite efforts to prevent contamination or cross-pollination of crops, there was no guarantee that the GMO crops would not affect other plants.
