If you are using later releases of Infiniti, you should have values ranging

between 0 and 100. The targets for low frequencies SMR and below is 40-70; for

fast frequencies from low-beta and up, it should be below 40. You may be having

some kind of error if you are hitting zero or 1(or 100) coherence.

We just did a new map and found the " Locking/Coherence " numbers to be in a

proper range. We recently did the updates for the Infinity TLC program, so

must have corrected some glitch. Do you think this glitch would have

compromised the previous maps?

Francois may be able to answer this better than I. My understanding is that the

changes were designed to allow the coherences to show a full decimal number

instead of truncating anything to the right of the decimal. I don't think it

changed the data at all, just the display.

Yes the latest BioGraph Infiniti Script

for TLC Assessment did change regarding the coherence (and Peak frequencies). 

The numbers are now from 0 to 100 (like BioExplorer) instead of from 0 to 1

(like Infiniti).

However, Infiniti version 2 seems to get higher coherence

numbers than BioExplorer.

We will wait a few days, since

BioGraph Infiniti version 3 (free upgrade) is going to be available any day

now; check www.thoughttechnology.com

regurlarly.  That new version will calculate coherence somehow differently, so

we will compare the 2 systems (Infiniti and BioExplorer).

I do have version version 3

already (I am a validation site; part of their ISO XXXX process) and so far, it

seems to work very similar to the norms in TLC Assessment (Excel spreadsheet).

CALL TO VOLUNTEERS:  Any one owning

the 2 systems?  Could you please do the following (after installing Infiniti

version 3): Hook up the same person to the 2

systems at the same time to see how the measures compare with coherence.

If there is a major difference,

we will try to come with a statement like this: “with the TLC assessment,

if you use Infiniti, take X % from the coherence values, to make use of the

norms”.

Hi Francois

I have both systems and also have enough jumper cables to record the TLC on both

of them at the same time. I'll be doing some assessments in the near future so

if the Infiniti comes out soon enough, I can do those assessments on both

systems at the same time and see what happens.

Francois, Greetings again. I have not seen version 3 on the website yet, but as soon as I do, I will be happy to help you out. I am curious as to what the discrepency in coherence and in the peak frequencies is about. I have had assessments on my BrainMaster with Bio-explorer, turn out to be different from the TLC assessments that I have run through my Infiniti system. The coherences on a % scale from 0-100 are as different as 20% at times in spite of good impedence, no outside interference, and artifacting. I have a number of coherence screens that I have created in bio-explorer, and I am attempting to make similar designs in Infiniti. Some of them have turned out quite well. I have not yet seen any assessment that does not register over .50 coherence for Beta and HBeta. Most assessments show over .60 everywhere. Granted, I don't do assessments unless there is pretty firm anecdotal evidence to support Attention Deficit problem, but it does make me wonder.

Secondly, I have tried every way I know to lower Beta coherence at F3/F4 and C3/C4 without any results. If you have a protocol that you have used successfully, please tell me what you did.

correct mathematically, was not as standard as could be.  Therefore, in version

3 it uses an algorithm more widely used by the field.

My experience with Infiniti version

3 to date (as a validation procedure) is that it does give coherence numbers

more similar to the ones used in the TLC Excel spreadsheet. I do think there

are also very nice new and improved features in version 3.

I made an error in my last

post, it seems that Infiniti version 3 is due for the end of March, not the end

of February, sorry…

The error I made was to talk

about dates.  Thought Technology does not officially talk about dates before

their projects are completed, so they are never wrong!  And they don’t

create disappointment, like I did!
