Guest guest
Hi guys, I was also interested in the salad spinners. Unique creations says the larger beans seem to grow twice as fast in the spinners as the other methods. Do you still think so? Why do you think that is? Thanks, Jess From: Melody <eliz7212@...> Subject: Re: Melody please Date: Friday, January 15, 2010, 12:16 PM  I COULD KISS YOU!!! Yesterday, one of the local stores THAT SELL EVERYTHING, was having this huge liquidation sale. I was walking around, went upstairs where they sell all kitchen stuff, and lo and behold VARIOUS COLORS OF SALAD SPINNERS FOR $6.99 minus a 10% discount. Well, I laughed out loud and said " Thank you UNIQUE CREATIONS " , on my sprout forum. I purchased it. came home, put my mung beans in it, AND I'VE BEEN HAPPILY DRAINING AND SPINNING EVER SINCE. Thanks very much Melody > > I have started using an amazing thing for sprouting... . > Cheap salad spinners...I purchased a couple at Walmart for $7 each...they are flimsy for spinning salad but perfect for soaking, draining & growing my sprouts in. > I use mason jars with tulle fabric/ rubber bands for my smaller seeds but for the mung/ adzuki sized seeds & larger...the salad spinners are THE BEST!!! > My chick peas/ mung/ adzuki grow twice as fast as jars or hemp bags...Just amazing! > >
Guest guest
Well I now have a large salad spinner to experiment with sprouting in, I left my very nice, fairly new OXO too close to a burner and now it has a spot that is bulging inward and stops it from spinning :-( Expensive lesson, but I have a spare bowl. Guest guest
I think it's because they have more space and there is plenty of air circulating. They are very similar to the Sprouter Gil demonstrates on YouTube. I tried Garbanzo beans in mine and they were ready the next day or two with nice healthy sprouts. Now I'm trying to figure out how to make hummus with them. Anyone have a good recipe?
