Hi Ron :) So you're a great kombucha brewer also? ;)

I've been sipping the stuff for about 4 years orso, but my culture has

gone bad a while ago, it also had the infamous fruitflies in them,

probably going to solicit if anyone wants to send me a culture again

some time .... oh wait, i might as well just do it now.... :) anyone got

one that can go to me in the Netherlands here?

Greetings from a fellow AHOTer and OKsubscriber.

frog () :)

Hi , I am sure your SCOBY will improve with time. When I first started,

my SCOBY was thin too. I started using Oolong Green Tea with a little White

Emperors Tea and my SCOBY became very thick. I usually introduce some Black Tea

into my brew about every third or fourth week. They are much easier to handle.

Hope this helps.

I live in Texas. I have had 2 batches going for 24 days and the scobies are

just barely 1/8 " thick. For at least 2 weeks of that time, the temp has been

between 75-80 degrees. I tasted them today when we got home and the flavor is

just about right, so I guess I'll refrigerate them tonight. I just wish the

scobies would get a little thicker because I think it would make them easier to

handle.

I was just on my way out the door to Whole Foods. I will look for these teas.

Thanks a bunch!
