Guest guest
Hi! Madison is having her first cast applied 5/27....I was wondering what everyone has found in your experiences to help keep the cast and babies clean. Also what works as far as diapering goes? Would something like Lil' Swimmers or Pull Ups be a better option? Is there a tried and true way of keeping poops from going up their backs? What should I have on hand besides moleskin to help make the transition easier? Basically any advice would help. I am getting a little nervous now, even though I know this is the best option. I guess just the unknown and the experience of it all and knowing Madison has to live with our decision is what has me nervous. I appreciate anyone's advice and all of the great Moms and Dads in the group with such great support! Thanks, Jen

Guest guest
That really helps! Thanks. I had bought some summer stuff before we knew about the scoliosis and unfortunately he's not going to be able to wear them. I will start stocking up on the 12-18 mos clothing. I can move him into my daughter's Britax Roundabout and move her into a new seat. Hopefully that seat will be compatible with the cast. Noelle (12-2-01)Ian (8-15-04) Re: first cast ,No, the clothes are about 1 size up. The carseat was a problem because you cannot use the infant carseat, they just won't fit. was 7 months old but that cast had to be cut off, his next cast was applied at 9 month and I had to buy a big boy carseat that can face backward and forward. I bought an evenflo because it had a flat bottom so that his hips wouldn't get rubbed on. I already had the Alpha Omega but the seat was too slanted so his little hips were getting red. I will look and find out what kind of evenflo carseat I have, it has worked great and is pretty inexpensive. Oh,If Ian wears a 6-12 mos. he should probably go to a 12-18. 1 size should work. Please feel free to ask anymore questions, was itty bitty too when we started this so it was scarey at first.Crista
