Guest guest
Hi all, On the subject of microwaves. From the yoga view point, microwaves are to be avoided. In yoga studies, each living thing has what s called prana - what some would call a life force. The air also has prana which is really what we take in and require when we breath. This is what give us energy and life(defined as " the breath of life " ). When a person microwaves food the prana is destroyed and the aura of the food disrupted. Even cooking food will lessen the prana and energy in it. This is why the best food to eat is live, fresh/raw organic foods. Simply the fresher the food the more energy can be taken from it! One reason kombucha is so good for you... Happy brewing, Nirinjan www.anahatabalance.com --------------------------------------- Subject: To microwave or not? Dear Beau, Since I have been reading negative things elsewhere in the internet about microwaves, I have done very little of it. Mine was broken down for a long time, but I finally had Sears fix it. Ontop of everything else, it's so old it's really an antique. LOve. MArge.
Guest guest
I agree with Nirinjan. Microwaves can physically be dangerous as well. Even when used simply to heat water. What happens is that the water molecules heat so fast they do not have time to dissipate. Boiling water forms bubbles which is the traditionally method of dissipating heat. What _may happen_ is that a glass of liquid heated in a microwave upon grabbing causes a shaking which releases all built up heat at once and the liquid " explodes " . Several children have received burns doing this. To avoid this possibility it is suggested to retrieve the container slowly - or to tap the container with a stick first. It is the initial contact (movement) where this presents the possibility of explosion. Harald Tietze (kombucha author and herbalist) also warns not to use microwave water. He tells people to do a simple experiment. [carefully] microwave one glass of water and when cooled place a seed in it. Place another seed in another normal glass of water and allow to soak overnight. Allow both to sprout using a piece of paper sticking the seed between the paper and the water glass) and you can see the difference in the " life energy " . So for kombucha brewing use the best fresh pure water available. Guest guest
The US Military is using microwaves as crowd control in Iraq. They are comparing it to sonic waves (as in sonar). Discovered years ago when whales and dolphins were getting beached caught in a sonar wave. More research on microwaves and people (actually using microwaves on people) is available. Seems the Russians were zapping people in the American Embassy in Moscow and tracked their doctors visits - for about 20 years. I reckon our intelligence is still analyzing the data before its finally released officially to the public. According to some internet sources the sonic waves were ready to be used at the U.S. political conventions and inauguration. Seems to work - at least in Iraq as there are no large crowds. The U.S. Government views these as peaceful crowd control. Ed Kasper L.Ac., Acupuncturist & Medicinal Herbalist http://HappyHerbalist.com eddy@...
