Guest guest
Hi, my 15 year old was in charge of fermenting the kombucha up until today. We have a large family and have quite a bit going at once. The last two gallons he forgot to leave uncovered with only a dust screen. For the last week they have had very little air. Also keep in mind they are kept in a very cold room so it grows slow. Both only have tiny scoby right now after a week of this mistake, and one has brown on it. We have now moved them to a warmer location and they can breath. Is it safe to continue using the one with brown, much less drink the tea it has made? The other one has a great deal of bubbles in the scopy area. Is that ok? We are new to Kombucha so I hope some of the old timers can help out. Thanks in advance.
