Guest guest
If you do have a bacterial infection (which looks like you do due to your high WBC), taking prednisone is contraindicated. You suppress the immune system with prednisone so the bacteria can multiply more. In mold illness (biotoxin mediated illness), it is not surprising to find intracellular bacterial infections. Just my opinion (more like an educated guess) Jay Gingersnap1964@... wrote: Hi guys.I am concerned about my doctors visit today. She says my swelling gums are due to yeast but she took me off sporanox and started me on tetracyclne, an antibiotic because my white blood count is sky high.I know antibiotics feed yeast. She feels we are missing a bacterial infection somwhere and is more concerned about my very very high white blood count then the yeast, I am to use nystatin swish and swallow as well a baking soda and hydrogen peroxide paste for the yeast at the moment. Does this all sound kosher to you? They thought the white blood count was from the prednisone but Im down to 10 mgs. now instead of 80 and my white blood count is saoring and my throat is all red ..Thanks, any advice appreciated. And girls ,if I felt better and lived near you Id have lunch but a long ways from Maine to you !!!!!!!!!!!!! Janet

Jay>> Jay, out of concern I must warn Janet and the members that one cannot stop taking prednisone cold-turkey after being on prednisone for a while. Such an action could be much more serious than the bacterial infection. Long term use of prednisone requires M.D. monitored tapering off the drug and depending upon the individual, duration and dosage could be months if not longer. Guest guest
Hi Rose, I just wanted to mention the possibility where steroids can encourage bacterial infections. I, in no way, implied that one should get off off steroids. Obviously only their doctors can make that decision. I just assumed it was understood that advice from people like me on this group who have NO medical background will not be taken as medical advice Jay healthier4all <Healthier4All@...> wrote: ]>> On Behalf Of jay krishnaa If you do have a bacterial infection (which looks like you do due to your high WBC), taking prednisone is contraindicated.
