Guest guest
Oh, you mean put TWO covers over the tray of bean sprouts and then put a weight on that?? I think the same thing would happen. The mung beans would bust out of that!!! But I'll do an experiment next time. THEN I'LL MAKE ANOTHER VIDEO. But......just harvested the batch you just saw in my previous video. And of course I recorded it. Wow, look at these bean sprouts!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aicIumeGSaI lol Melody > > Hi Melody, > > > > I had a thought (painful as it was), since these trays nest so nicely and you have an extra, can’t you just put another tray directly on top of the bean sprouts and weight that? I don’t have enough trays yet to try it, all 3 of mine are now being used. Although I will say that your sprouts look awesome just the way they are. When I was using other bowls I weighted them the whole time and I’m not sure it was any better. Maybe you could try a comparison and video it for us! > > > > I have to peel myself away from this PC and get ready for work, have a good day everybody! > > > > Lorri (WA) > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi., me again. I got it wrong. I thought you told me to use 2 covers. Now I re-read your post and you say to put another tray over the mung beans and use weights on that tray, THEN PUT A COVER. I will do this next time. Sounds good. Will record it. OF COURSE. And why the heck aren't any of you recording stuff and going on youtube. This Flip is fabulous. Just imagine the stuff you all could teach each other. I would love to see what you all grow. Youtube is perfect for this. Melody
Guest guest
I think it's a little over a quarter cup. I have this measuring scoop thing, and I just fill the scoop and place in mason jar, soak over night and then place in the tray. What really makes them grow is that I put the weight on top. They grow HUGE, and nice and white with little green things at the end. Tonight I sauteed them for 30 seconds and put some in my sprout salad. THE BOMB!!! Tomorrow night I will slice an onion, some garlic and do a stir fry. This is so cool to be able to grow what I eat, and even in winter, it doesn't matter. I can still grow what I eat. I think sprouting might have saved my life. All this good stuff going into my body. Oh, by the way, the Flip that I got from my sister in law was purchased on Tigerdirect.com for $69.96. Compared to what camcorders used to sell for YEARS ago, $799.99 (I never bought one, never could have afforded them), but now I can FLIP whenever I want to. So cool!!! Hope you can get one someday. You will be recording everything. lol Melody
Guest guest
Aw, sorry. Maybe someday? Last night I was at a friend's house. She (6 months ago), had gone on HSN and paid over one hundred for a nice little camcorder that you flip open and there's a viewing screen on the left. She never learned how to use it. I tried learning it some time ago and I remember saying " Why don't they make a little camcorder that is easy to set up, and you just push a button " . Then I received my Flip. Exactly what I had asked for. So last night she gets out her HSN camcorder and we had other people there who knew how to use these things. They tried setting it up for her. They couldn't do it. She had called up HSN yesterday to try and return it and they said " We only give you 30 days to return stuff, sorry no can do " So now she is stuck with a camcorder that she can't use. And she got the new Avon Book and guess what Avon is selling from their book? THE FLIP But...it's $149.99. I know mine is refurbished, but it works and I have no problems. So to me, this is like Camcorders for Dummies. And I get to edit and trim and make little movies. For me, it's a beginning to learn about video making and film sharing. They have all kids of Flips. This is the easiest one for me. So maybe someday you might be able to share all your glorious sprouting videos with us. Here's hoping!!!!! Mel > > Cause I don't have a Flip!! Guest guest
LOL If there was a title for this Flip, it would be FFD. FLIP FOR DUMMIES. What a pleasure. Melody
Guest guest
It came with a manual and everything. Never thought to tell her to phone the company. Good Idea. Will tell her this tomorrow.
