Thanks for your input. It would be nice to get data from each

approach. In the Flexyx 'manual' they say that learning can be faster

when there is not so much 'bells and whistles' (the manual seemed to

contain a lot of sound advice, hence I weight it as at least somewhat

trustworthy). I don't know if this is true. It certainly is not true

as long as there's a lot of hi beta I think.

Although I find that most adults are the control freaks and want to know how they are making that noise and try and figure out how to "control" the scoring, etc. I DO NOT use any animation at all. I have a drawer FULL of hand-held simple non-thinking games. Many adults find it very relaxing and mindless to play solitaire or tetris on a hand-held game and then they don't even think about the beeping. Just a thought.
