Guest guest
For years I bought lentils from the grocery store, dried soybeans and mung beans from the Asian market. They all sprouted fine. I buy French Lentils in bulk from whole foods. None are organic but pretty cheap and no shipping. The lentils from the supermarket are usually 99 cents or 69 cents on sale per pound bag. I tried and failed miserably with dried garbanzos from the grocery store. I think it was because I was using a Mason Jar at the time--they got very gross and moldy. I would also prefer to be able to buy my supplies nearby, but where I live in NJ it is a cultural and health food desert. For my order from Sproutpeople, I paid $15 in shipping--worth it, but it would be nice if I could spend that on seeds instead. How good i had it when I lived in San Francisco! n Rollings, PhDNJ Licensed Psychologist #4686www.DrnRollings.com Until we have the courage to recognize cruelty for what it is--whether its victim is human or animal--we cannot expect things to be much better in this world... We cannot have peace among men whose hearts delight in killing any living creature. By every act that glorifies or even tolerates such moronic delight in killing we set back the progress of humanity. I tried buckwheat and the seeds looked and sprouted identically to the ones I bought online. I'm happy to support the sprouting vendors when they're the best option, but if I can find something cheaper at a store to which I can ride my bike that's what I'll buy. - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rice, CMT, CPT Positive Massage Therapy Positive-Massage.com RiceFitness.blogspot.com 650.814.3949 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
