Sounds good to me.

ew

I have a good question about lighting (for

greening).

In the past, my sprout rack was up against the window sill and I got good

indirect sunlight and they greened up just fine.

And then I moved the whole thing across the room. Now I know that all I have to

do is turn on my kitchen light (ceiling fan with 3 light bulbs), but it's TOO

BRIGHT for us.

So I went into my closet, took out one of my pole lamps. A long skinny thing

with three things on it that swivel. I put three of those energy saving light

bulbs in it and positioned it near my sprouts. I turned each swivel thing so it

was shining on the racks and on my trays and on my jars. It really did the

trick. I didn't have to have my whole kitchen ablaze in light. The three energy

saving bulbs, well, I just want to know if I am doing the right thing?

I did this yesterday and after a few hours, ALL my sprouts (whether in trays or

in mason jars), greened up very nicely. I then shut off the lamp and moved the

pole so it's standing next to the rack. I'll only use it when I'm in GREENING UP

mode.

Nothing got burned, dried out or anything. Just nice and green.

This is okay?? right?

Light is light? right?

Just want to make sure.

Thanks much, Melody

Oh, and here's another dumb question. And believe me I'm laughing as I type

this.

After I use the OXO salad spinner to get most of the moisture out of my sprouts,

well, there is still A LOT OF MOISTURE LEFT.

I am now spreading them all out on a clean white towel and it takes HOURS for

them to get dry enough to put in my LOCK & LOCK container.

So I had a lightbulb moment.

I have a blow dryer.

when I spread out my sprouts on the white towel, can't I put the blow dryer on

cool, and carefully blow dry them DRY!!?

Is this do-able?

Told you it's a dumb question, but I like to make it as easy as I can and not

take hours to dry.

Can this be done, or would the blow-dryer do any harm?

Thanks if I can get these two topics answered.

Okay, I'll make a video in two minutes. But what do you mean, how the covers

work? Didn't you see my video of how they stack?

Be back later with the new video.

wow, that was great, thanks. now i see how it works! the slats in the

attachment bowl seem to be wide so i was surprised that more of your

sprouts didn't get spun (is that a word?) out of it and into the main

chamber.

you're right, it's quite a jumper when you're using only one hand.

good video job, thanks. i love technology!

I know, one would think that the sprouts would fly right through the slats. I

should have shown you the water at the bottom of the removable bowl. This thing

is so cool. After I dumped the dry sprouts into my rectangular bowl, I just went

back to the spinning bowl and it lifts right off the mechanism, brought it to

the sink, poured out the water, and re-connected the whole thing. Took 5

seconds.

Best investment I ever made.

Oh, I just made another video (see my post right before this one). She wanted to

see the bottom of the round green trays, so of course I USED MY FLIP!!!! lol

As Melody demonstrates, the sprouts go in the bowl with the drainage holes

(which drain a lot better than you would think), and then the larger

non-perforated tops fit nicely over the sprout bowls. There are slats in the

sides of the sprout bowls that allow for air circulation (and help with

draining). Because of the way the bowls fit on top of each other, they continue

to drain any excess moisture through those little holes. I have not had any

seeds get stuck in them at all.Easy Sprouters drain better than anything I've

tried, but they don't stack, and won't allow for greening the way the Sprout

Gardens do.Easy Sprouters require a little more elbow grease too (see Gil's

videos). I still use the two I have plus the Sprout Garden. With the Sprout

Garden trays, I give each one a good quick rinse, drain them, and let them sit

in the drain for a bit. I have no complaints about the Sprout Garden trays and

am so glad I have them. (thanks again Melody!). They

actually look nice on the counter and as Melody as so eloquently demonstrated,

one can stack as many as 9 bowls. I love the way the sprouts look as they

green. I originally had thought about getting one of those automatic sprouters,

but I like being involved with the sprouts and they don't take much time. I like

looking at them and watching the stages of their development. :) nso happy

it is Friday and my Fenugreek sprouts were ready for eating!
