Guest guest
Barb that is exactly how my chemical sensitities began several years ago. Long before Lyme or Mold......I'm a Aspartame survivor which is where MCS began for me...:-(( One of the things that have helped me over the years is I kept a journal on different exposures.....this helped me down the road to identify them more quickly or to beware of sensitivities.... Guest guest
Now I'm concerned about what you and said. Did it seem to you that you smelled things more strongly than you did before? That is something I have noticed. I thought it was because I've cleaned up my house so well, that I am 'used' to very clean air and so now things are smelling stinky to me because I've become accustomed to very, very clean air, but I have had this where smells seem very strong for me and I will stop going down an aile and go detour around it to avoid it. Is this what you are went/are going through?? I must admit I have found the symptoms of chemical sensitivity that you all describe difficult to believe myself, even though you are sound so intelligent and 'sane'. > > Barb that is exactly how my chemical sensitities began several years ago. > Long before Lyme or Mold......I'm a Aspartame survivor which is where MCS began > for me...:-(( One of the things that have helped me over the years is I kept > a
Guest guest
Yes the ability to detect fragrances and chemicals does help keep you out of danger, but it becomes a problem when you have no control of the situation like in my apartment and all of the chemicals I get from other apartments. You can't open the window when others are doing wash because the exhaust are by the windows, can't turn on the ac because of fragrance coming through vents. I can even tell when someone takes a shower or uses mouth wash in another apartment. Unfortunatley don't know where else is safe. Guest guest
I just remember when I first starting having this problem with chemicals one of the first things I noticed was I use to wash my delicates in Ivory Snow and hang them on the line. Soon after getting all my sinus trouble with mold I began to notice that my wash just smelled too fresh or something. I remember the shampoo my daughter had really bothered me and my husband. Soon it was cooking odors and then cleaning products. I used all of this stuff all my life until getting sinus trouble from mold. I guess what happens with me is my sinuses are so inflammed that it is like they get burned when I am exposed to these chemicals. Sometimes I get the feeling that I could vomit but that is usually when I get a migrane. If I feel some pain in my head, ear, even my legs I look around to see if there is something in the area that could be causing me problems. I don't really take pain pills so after I get away from the problem I feel better after I can get the congestion out of me. I seem to get congested when exposed to stuff. Of course the longer I am exposed to something the longer it takes to feel better. So in a store I can just get out of an area if something is bothering me. > > > > Barb that is exactly how my chemical sensitities began several > years ago. > > Long before Lyme or Mold......I'm a Aspartame survivor which is > where MCS began > > for me...:-(( One of the things that have helped me over the > years is I kept > > a >

Guest guest
I felt like the people around me were not acting like they should with such a powerful and terrible smell. You would think they would be making faces and looking at each other, like 'what's THAT', but they were like robots without any reaction. That is what seemed like a movie. Like they were in a different world than I was in. I hope it was a one time thing but it did make me think of all of you with chemical sensitivity. How you must feel when others don't notice. > > my nose smells everything now. I understand the feelong like your in a movie > thing
Guest guest
I wonder if fungal infection or toxins, whatever, destroys part of brain barrier so that there is less between your brain and your environment and that is why such strong reactions. I seem to smell things more strongly now than before and been wondering about it. > > my nose smells everything now. Guest guest
I react to to smells and Lowes about kills me when I'm in there. Shopping in malls around all the clothes swells me up and gets to me too. I will shop on-line lots of times. I asked a lot if people smell what I'm smelling and most times I hear no and I can't figure how I smell it and they can't. I can tell my boss when ac/heat shuts down b/c the musty smell come bolting out bad and I smell it everytime. Least gets the maintenance here faster by me detecting shutdown. Perfumed detergents I'll never get how people use them on their clothes etc. When my sister gives me some clothes she no longer wants washed in Gain, it takes forever to get the perfumey smell out of the clothes. Guest guest
Yes cooking odors really make me feel sick. That is my worse time of day. My husband does most of the cooking because it makes me feel soo sick. I especially have trouble with my neighbors cooking cabbage so much. > > Ever since I got sick from mold I cant handle even cookong smells. > Janet > > >
