Guest guest
Lee, when I took the Master Gardener courses, I learned that the first leaves were called the cotyledon because they proceeded the true leaves. We were really taught more about gardening than about botany. So, I can't really answer your questions any betten than that. The function of a Master Gardener is to teach people how to grow their own food. Being a Master Gardener is a lot about where to find the answers rather that knowing all of the answers. ew Re: My bean sprouts have ERUPTED!!! > Date: Sun, 25 Oct 2009 18:07:07 -0400 > > > > Ernest, > My understand of beans is that they are dicotyledons and that the the > two halves of the seed inside the hull are the cotyledons so anything > that comes after that is the true leaves.
