Hi all,

I have always used one of those brown, " natural " , coffee filters. I do not

like the idea of the white ones, unless I am in a pinch, since they are

treated with bleaches, etc. I just can not stand the idea that there is a

possibility that some bleached particles could separate from the filter and

fall into my brew. Yes, I am sure that there is probably some sort of

treatment that goes into the " natural " coffee filters, as well, though I

think that there is probably less processing with the brown ones than with

the white ones. I use the " natural " coffee filters for my kefir, as well.

Here, in Texas, the bugs are so, so bad that using the coffee filter is

practically a necessity. That is, it prevents the critters from access to

the brew, though it still allows access to the air.

Hey, this is simply the way that I do this, however it works for you guys?,

great!

Oh, I agree with Bev, do not take a chance with a questionable brew, we all

want to keep our Kombucha legal. I would hate to, eventually, become one

who " breaks the law " intentionally. I need my Kombucha and Kefir.

to the health of us all,

huehue
