Guest guest
Hi Newbies: I started almost 2 years ago. I LOVE it, and I make videos. Just go to youtube and do a search on eliz7212 and my videos will come up. I just made one some time ago and showed how I use vegetable steamers to sprout. So read, learn and SPROUT. Your body will love you for it. Take care, Melody > > Hi Guys! > I just joined the group a few days ago. > I've been living on the typical american diet for many years > and looking to make some changes. Guest guest
Thanks : ) I subscribed to the and your youtube videos, Melody so I'm ready to jump in with both feet! Tom > > Tom...Welcome! > When I started sprouting a few years ago I just gradually started replacing cooked vegetables with the live sprouts and greens. I also added them to sandwiches, soups, whatever. The more you sprout the more you'll learn. Sproutpeople has a great web site to get all the info you need, and of course we'll answer questions too. > > Good luck. > > Sherry > >  > > > > ________________________________ > From: bigtom396 <bigtom396@...> > > Sent: Sun, March 7, 2010 5:58:20 PM > Subject: newbie sprouter : ) > >  > Hi Guys! > I just joined the group a few days ago. > I've been living on the typical american diet for many years > and looking to make some changes. Guest guest
Tom -- sprouting is awesome and so simple to do. I personally use the " easy sprout " as described on the Sproutpeople website. I've done jars, bags, trays ... but keep coming back to the easy sprout because it is just that --- easy. Great sprouts every time with no mess, no fuss. Just start with something you like and go for it. I sincerely doubt you could eat too many sprouts. You can eat sprouts at every stage ... from just barely sprouted to ones with long tails and tiny leaves. Experiment to see what you like best. One thing about some sprouts, such as radish, you may see what looks like mold on the little stems ... don't panic -- if you look really closely you'll see they are tiny root hairs that spring up. They go back down when you rinse them. This is a great forum to get information. Happy sprouting! terry > > Hi Guys! > I just joined the group a few days ago. > I've been living on the typical american diet for many years > and looking to make some changes. Guest guest
I'm sure you can add sprouts to bread and such ... I don't know about traditional breads because I've been raw vegan for a very long time and don't cook/bake anything. Since sprouts are a wonderful powerhouse of nutrition 'as is', I can't imagine cooking/baking them (cause then they are dead). I eat sprouts 'plain', add them to raw sandwiches and wraps, soups, smoothies, juices .... that type of thing. I love them. After you sprout different stuff for a while, you will develop favorites and ways you eat them. > > > > > > Hi Guys! > > > I just joined the group a few days ago. > > > I've been living on the typical american diet for many years > > > and looking to make some changes.
