Guest guest
ok, clearly i need some additional nfo on sprouting sunflowers in a salad spinner as mine did not turn out well. btw, i'm interested in sprouting sunflower greens, just to make sure i'm on the right page with this. i soaked my sunflower seeds overnight, drained them and placed them in the inner basket inside of my salad spinner. i rinsed them 2 or 3 times that first day. the second day i could see some sprouts emerging but it didn't smell good inside the salad spinner. there's no light or air inside the spinner so i thought maybe the seeds were beginning to rot. i took off the lid and continued rinsing 2 to 3 times a day but to no avail, they never really grew anymore. RIP. i know they need darkness to germinate and i confess the odor threw me off. maybe they smell that way in dirt too and i just don't know it. i'd really like to be able to sprout sunflower greens in my salad spinner as opposed to tending to them in flats downstairs, especially in the winter. can someone get me on the right track with this?? thanks, karron > >Yes Karron, I do mung, chick peas, sunflower, peas, lentils etc in them.. > >
