Guest guest
Hi I am new here and I have lots of questions. My daughter Isabella is 6 months old with torticollis. I took her to an orthopedist at 3 months and he said she has mild scoliosis. He gave her an x-ray but for some reason it was inconclusive and he couldn't get much out of it. I am quite concerned because he didn't seemed really worried about it and wants me to come back in March when she is sitting on her own for another x-ray. I'm guessing he got the " mild scoliosis " from simply feeling her spine because that is all that he did. After reading some posts I was just wondering what questions to ask and if she was to get casted at what age do dr's do this. I live in Chicago and she is currently going to Childrens Mem. Hosp. We have a Shriners here in Chicago and I am wondering if I should go there for a second opinion or if I should just wait to see what happens in March. Sorry to seem so boggled about this but it is my understanding that there are different types of scoliosis in infants and I'm not even sure which she has or what the measurements of her curves are. It is evitable that she does have one just from looking at her back. Hope someone could shed some light for me! Thanks, Lori (mom to Isabella)
