Guest guest
Hey Terry, I had some painful inflamed atheltes foot between some of my toes, and so I soaked a piece of paper towel with kombucha vinegar, placed it between the toes, put a sock on and went to bed. This turned the infection around and it was better in a day or so after that. It seems to be most helpful if you can keep it in contact with your feet for at least 20 min. Make sure that it is very sour K-T or your feet will get sticky and it will not work as well. Also keep drinking the K-T and if you have Kefir, that is very very good too. Athletes foot and other epidermal fungus outbreaks are often an indicator of an internal yeast imbalance so if you keep consuming the kombucha and/or kefir regularly, and don't eat too much sugar, this condition should slowly dissipate. I had to take a look at my feet to confirm that my feet are pretty much cured, it's taken a few months of a good diet consisting of mostly whole grains and legumes, veggies (fermented ones too), occasional fish, and just a glass or two a day of either kombucha or kefir or maybe one of each. I also take other herbs as a decoction that I prepare from, reishi mushroom, astragalus root, chapparal leaf, and echinacea root. I alternate out the chapparal for cleansing, sometimes I only use reishi and asragalus for an immune booster. The ascorbic acid powder at my local whole food store is a great way to get alot of pure vitamin C, a teaspoon = 5000mg The kind I get also has all of the bioflavinoids. I mix the powder into my herbal cocktails, it has a preservative function also, being and acid, it lowers the Ph so the mixture will keep much longer. WHoa! I guess since I'm into the holistic approach, you got the whole nine yards!! So go wade around in some ripe Kombucha and be sure to splash the scoby, they love that game! Beau KT and athlete's foot Oh Romeo, oh Romeo, Thy t's waiting for a drink... Not wine, not ale, nor hopsy beer, But Kombucha Tonic, I think! Oh minstrel Pegg, I just love your wit!! Now a question for the KT list. I had mistakingly been diagnosed with gout, and it turned out to be just a bad case of athlete's foot, a mycosis, so strong that two of my little toes became infected and hence swelled up like strawberries. Question is: I believe I can go on drinking KT, but what about using it as a foot bath, apart from the cream I have to put between my toes? Would it help? A good weekend to everybody, Terry Mc Q from Argentina
Guest guest
Hi Terry, The minstrel takes a bow to you and is glad you like her wit :-) As to the Athlete's foot: I've had it in the past and found 2 things very helpful 1) Strips of Scoby placed between the toes, on the bits that are affected by the fungus. You would have to bandage it up and put some waterproofing where your foot is resting. It'll initially sting like mad, but you can talk to the fungus on your foot and tell it,'Die, die, die!!' ;-) After there is an improvement and the fungoid annoyance has lessened, start massaging T-Tree-oil in the affected area morning and evening. This will get your skin beautifully conditioned and back to normality. I would also recommend that you don't wash your feet with water but instead with KT for a while. Fungoid 'things' and pathogenic bacteria don't like Kombucha-acid environment. Let us know how you are getting on, Terry. As OOO is a very hot essential oil you must cut it 6 -1 with olive oil and then rub it into the infected area. KT and tea tree will eventiually work but OOO really nukes it. rusty Re: KT and athlete's foot > > Hi Terry, > > The minstrel takes a bow to you and is glad you like her wit :-) > > As to the Athlete's foot: > > I've had it in the past and found 2 things very helpful > > 1) Strips of Scoby placed between the toes, on the bits that are > affected by the fungus. Oil of Oregano - thanks Rusty for recommending it - sounds even more effective than Tea Tree oil. I suppose, you'll have to plump for one or the other. As your case sounded so acute and nasty, I should try 'nuking' it with the oregano oil. Don't forget to tell us how you get on. Guest guest
HUllo Minstrel Margret! As Marge said, I am indeed lucky to have a fungus and not gout. Now I'll go for a nice glass of KT and tonight I'll follow your advice. Thanks a million. Guest guest
Hi Rusty, what is T-Tree-oil? I've never heard of it, I live in Argentina and maybe it has another name here. I'm sure I'll be able to get the Oil of Oregano, oregano is such a common spice here. We put it in everything, but I've never used the oil. There are all sorts of oil here, I'll just have to find the name given here to the ones you mention. If it nukes the fungus I'll be delighted. Anyway, it's a blessing that it's just a fungus and not gout, as I'd been told before. Thank God for that. And I'll go on with my KT, good thing I don't have to give it up. Thanks a million, Terry Re: KT and athlete's foot > > Hi Terry, > > The minstrel takes a bow to you and is glad you like her wit :-) > > As to the Athlete's foot: > > I've had it in the past and found 2 things very helpful > > 1) Strips of Scoby placed between the toes, on the bits that are > affected by the fungus. I've never heard of it, I live in Argentina and maybe it has another name here. _ Melaleuca: It's a mild anti microbe. Do your searching under " Tea Tree Oil " . Here's a link: http://sd.essortment.com/usesteatreeoi_rgro.htm OOO is a strong anti micobic. Tea tree is preferred for internal use and surface first aid but be careful around pets as it's very toxic to cats. Use the Oil Of Oregano to get at persistant infections. By the way, as this is a KT list, one should be aware that these two essential oils are probably the worst thing you could add to a KT brew. rusty Re: KT and athlete's foot > > > > > > Hi Terry, > > > > The minstrel takes a bow to you and is glad you like her wit :-) > > > > As to the Athlete's foot: > > > > I've had it in the past and found 2 things very helpful > > > > 1) Strips of Scoby placed between the toes, on the bits that are > > affected by the fungus.
