Guest guest
One would think I might have done this before, but THANKFULLY, I did this last night. Well, I saw the guy use the Easy Sprouter and I am now saving up. It looks right up my alley. I'll have to buy 10 or so, but I'm saving. Especially watching him take it in his hand and hold it spinning over the sink so all the water drains. I do exactly the same thing with my mason jars, but that's glass and it's heavy. I gather the plastic used in the easy sprouter is SAFE?? But the BEST tip I got from watching the video was when he de-hulled during the rinsing and draining. I never thought to do that. So earlier today, I held my mason jar full of sprouts under the water until the water reached the top, and I reduced the stream to a trickle and YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE HULLS FLOATING TO THE TOP AND FALLING OFF. Don't I sound like a kid in a candy shop? It will make the final DE-HULLING in my salad spinner GO MUCH FASTER. So thank you SPROUT PEOPLE for making that video. AND HERE'S A REALLY GOOD QUESTION. At the end of the video, the guy says he loves to store them in Peak Fresh Bags. These bags look EXACTLY like Debbie Myers Green Bags. I, myself, use the OSO FRESH containers with silver in the plastic to retard bacteria. But if you guys think the Peak Fresh bags are better, I'll get them. What do you think? The guy said you can keep sprouts fresh for 2 weeks. Because I eat mine every day, they don't last 2 weeks, but if I could do sprouting once a week, it would save me time. BIG TIME. So any advice is welcome. Thanks much Melody
Guest guest
Melody, you don't need the bags. You eat your sprouts too fast to worry about what kind of storage. What you have done so far is just right for you. PS: the guy in the video is our own Gil. ew I watched the videos on youtube One would think I might have done this before, but THANKFULLY, I did this last night.
