Xylitol, opinions

Hi,

I discovered last night that Sainsburys (a supermarket in UK) are

selling 225g bags of pure Xylitol ('Perfect Sweet' brand). I'm trying

to do low-carb, however the very low GI, slow digestion, anti-bacterial

and other benefits look useful, obviously I won't use much given that it

is 100% carb. Are there any downsides of Xylitol that I should be aware of?
