CM,

Interesting and alarming info, I knew that flouride was bad for us but was not

aware that it was found in tea. On the rejoiceinlife site on the kombucha page

they mention that organic tea should/may contain less flouride than

non-organinc. So this might be one way to cut back fluoride consumption.

>While I have never heard of a study done on it, I would imagine that kombucha

must chelate out the fluoride because KT prevents and treats cancer, whereas

fluoride causes it.

I sure hope so, but apparently flouride cannot be chelated from the body, there

is no known way (yet) so I would stick to organic tea anyway...Here's an article

I found.

Peace be with you,

Beau

Fortunately there are ways to avoid fluoride intake. And believe it or not,

avoiding fluoride just might make your teeth healthier.

But is there a way to remove fluoride buildup from your body? Good question. But

difficult to answer.

Binding molecule

I recently received this e-mail from an HSI member named Owen:

" Fluoride is a toxin which accumulates in the bones and glands over a lifetime.

It makes bones brittle, and has been linked to the plague of hip-fractures which

effectively end the lives of 350,000 elderly Americans each year.

" I've been taking good care of myself for decades, but I drank tap water when I

was a young man. There's bound to be fluoride in my bones, unless the clean

living of the last 26 years has removed it. That's what I want to know: are

there foods or supplements which effectively remove fluoride from bones and

glands? "

Unfortunately, the answer to Owen's question appears to be, " No. " So far,

anyway.

I asked HSI Panelist Allan Spreen, M.D., about the possibility of chelating

fluoride accumulation from the body, and he pointed out that fluoride has an

unusually strong binding molecule. This is part of the reason why many water

filters are ineffective in extracting fluoride. Dr. Spreen says, " It's well

known that fluoride is difficult to remove from water with conventional water

filters. Much of the chlorine can be removed using a good carbon filter, but

fluoride will not come with it. "

Green Tea, Fluoride & the Thyroid

Enclosed is an extract from an article on dental fluorisis induced by drinking

black and green tea, because the camelia sinensis plant is high in fluoride.

While I have never heard of a study done on it, I would imagine that kombucha

must chelate out the fluoride because KT prevents and treats cancer, whereas

fluoride causes it.

Hi ,

Do you know what methods of chelation were effective for her? I'm sure that

the group, including myself would be interested to hear of any methods that

might aid in the chelation of flouride from the body.

Thanks,

Beau

Re: Green Tea, Fluoride & Chelation

Hello,

I am acquainted with a father whose young daughter struggled with fluorosis.

Chelation helped her.

Hi,

As I understand it, the little girl underwent the usual Canadian/American

protocol of intravenous chelation for several hours. The Europeans have

started what they call the " push " method where they merely inject the whole

dose, so you don't have to sit and wait for hours. Don't think you can get

it in the USA, though.

There is one little " gotcha " about chelation that most of chelation doctors

won't tell you: the research on chelation demonstrated that the drug works

just as well orally as through intravenous delivery. The reason that they

don't tell you is that they don't want to put themselves out of a job. On

the other hand, most folks can't afford $3,000-$5,000 per year for

intravenous chelation.

You can buy EDTA in pill form online right now. Just keep in mind that when

you do oral chelation, you must replace the minerals that are being chelated

out. E.g. I've heard of a chelation patient who started breaking his bones

because he didn't like taking calcium/magnesium supplements.

Other agents that have a chelating effect include Vitamin C (over 10 grams

per day), alpha lipoic acid (at least one gram per day), and Vitamin C +

lysine. I believe that hydrogen peroxide and liquid stabilized oxygen have a

chelating effect, too.

Keep in mind, though, that your body will remove fluoride automatically IF

you can remove enough of it from your water and food supply. If you keep

eating fluoride, obviously, you will still have a problem.

Teflon is made with fluoride and studies have shown that the fluoride will

leech into the water if you cook in teflon coated pans. Also, since teflon

is a plastic, it will melt once the pan gets hot enough and give off

fluoride gas. This has resulted in the swift poisoning deaths of small

birds. See:

http://www.rense.com/general59/kll.htm and

http://www.bruha.com/science/html/ptfe.html

Some folks are wondering if we're next.

Hope that helps,
