The one I have works in the microwave and is made by Presto. Presently I use

butter in the little paper cup in the bottom (you can pop dry and add butter

later). I am quite happy with it because the popcorn you buy in bags to put in

the microwave uses partially hydrogenated oils, which I avoid like the plague.

I think I bought from Amazon but you should be able to find one in Israel.

Also you could make one, just a microwave safe container with a cover.

Thanks.

No, it's not available in Israel, but at the age of international credit

cards...

:-)

I searched and found a previous thread where you said " organic popcorn

is good, but it's hard to find the right kind. "

I've tried various kinds of popping corn, with coconut oil. It always

comes out too much like styrofoam, whether air popped or on my electric

stove.

When I have it, I like to pop my popcorn in lard, or lard and a bit of coconut

oil mixed in. I have found coconut oil has a much lower smoke point and it's

hard to make popcorn without getting the oil pretty hot. I melt butter and

coconut oil together and mix in some sea salt and liberally douse it once the

butter is cooled. if you put hot butter on it tends to make the popcorn soggy.

i like to put some Parmesan cheese and cayenne pepper on mine, or a shake of

Tabasco in the butter. mmmmm...

My family loves popcorn. About a year ago some good friends of ours had

us try making popcorn on the stove with one of those popcorn pans, you

can get from Lehmans. This makes the popcorn SOOOO good. Definately use

the organic popcorn because it has even more taste than the regular

kind. I think the best is the multicolored popcorn I bought a few months

ago from Blooming Prairie buyers club.

You don't need to put butter on it if you use enough oil. Use fine salt.

I've made garlic popcorn before by making up garlic butter and putting

that on the popcorn.

Anybody have a recipe for popcorn balls?

I found a Stainless Steel popcorn popper thru Lehman's. You wouldn't

believe how fast and wonderful it pops that corn!

I also use CO and I be sure to buy organic WHITE popcorn that's not

too old. It pops up lighter and the hulls aren't so bad.

Thia,

I had just read what Sparrow said about popcorn and thought it might be good

with coconut oil....then the next post was you saying the same thing! I'm going

to try it.

The bf thought I was crazy for using the coconut oil when I wanted popcorn.

But he tried it, and now it's the only way he makes it too. :~)

Just tried it and it's yummy!  Thought it would be more coconutty, but it's

pretty neutral.
