If you need to toss a culture, at least give it to the dirt. They can be placed

around the base of rhododendron, or azalea or any other acid loving plant for a

nutrient rich mulch cover. Or throw them in the compost pile.

Sad to flush them...

Dear Ones,

I would never subject any of my dear scobies to such treatment. I even

apoloize to any litle bits that accidentally go on their way down to the

rivers of land. What do they do there? Can they survive?

Blessings on you all. LOve. MArge.

We give all Scobys no longer in use to our: chickens, silkies,

peafowl, and guieas... they love them!!!!

And we are rewarded with wonderful eggs from our chickens!! (they are

also on an organic grain diet as well as free ranging)

Whoa Sabina that's cool!

We have chickens and have never thought of trying that!

I brew 5 gal. at a time and end up with 1 " thick scobys that are nearly a foot

in dia. so that would be quite a kombucha treat for the chickens, wow.

BTW where do you get organic grain for them, do you mill it yourself?
