There is no right-side-up or up-side-down with scoby. Any side will do,

whatever scoby wants scoby gets. Sometimes when you put it in the jar it

will stand straight up and down like a coin on it's edge. Also it

doesn't matter if it sinks or floats or hangs in the middle as long as

it's in there, no problem:)
